I booked restaurant Jan for my husbands milestone birthday last Saturday evening. We had never been to the restaurant so the booking was purely done having read glowing reviews which was risky for such an occasion. I need not have worried as everything about our evening was amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly and although I had had a... More

Extraordinary, creative and non-traditional menu. Excellent service. Great ambiance. Perfect for a romantic dinner and great for foodies. Beet salad (First course) and dessert were a must

We had one night in Nice and we are so glad we chose to eat at Jan. I am a fussy eater, I had warned the restaurant and Jan was more than happy to provide a vegetarian option for me. My food was superb and all of the meat eaters in our group loved their food as well. The whole... More

It was a good omen when the taxi driver said; "Good choice, he's a South African but he can cook". Tucked away in the old port area with probably only about 30 covers, Jan serves a tasting menu with or without wine pairings. The food is seasonal and compared to London prices for similar quality and skill very reasonably priced.... More

We visited this restaurant as a birthday treat and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was friendly, professional and personal. Highly recommend! The whole evening was wonderful.

Every aspect of this restaurant experience over-delivered on our expectations - from the unique, refined taste of the decor, to the quality of the service, and finally the supburbly delicious tasting menu at a surprisingly reasonable cost, JAN is in a class all it's own. It runs like a swiss watch yet the pace is unhurried and the service warm... More

Jan is a jewel box of a restaurant tucked away on one of the streets behind the port...an area that is slowly but surely being gentrified. From the moment you walk in the door and are warmly greeted, you feel at home. The chef/owner Jan Hendrik has spared no expense in decorating the room in exsquisite style. The service is... More

This is by far the best food experience I had in a very long time!! Everything from the starters to desert left you wanting more. The combination of flavours (specially the mains) works perfectly and the presentation is of Michelin star quality. Thank you all who made our dining experience fantastic! Ps - Do the wine pairing if you can!

My husband and I booked this restaurant based on the trip advisor reviews and a piece in conde nast traveler, and it was the highlight of our trip to Nice. The restaurant itself is small, but beautifully decorated, and has a lovely warmth that's obvious from the minute you walk in. The menu is a set tasting menu, although we... More
