A French Provencial-Japanese restaurant, if you can imagine that!

We were expecting sushi. We're we suprised! A lovely small restaurant that serves French food with a slightly Asian twist. The servers were lovely Japanese women who tried very hard to serve all the tables. It was crowded, and we came when they opened, at 7:30 which was great. The rush happened at... read more

A Japanese girl asked me how I would like my duck steak? Bemused, I said medium, to allow them to get on with it. First course, served on a slate slab, was a thin fillet of raw bream marinated in vinegar and served with a cream, pepper and sesame sauce, a piece of eggplant, and an onion ring in tempura... More

We saved this restaurant for our final dinner after a week in Nice. Do make reservations because the dining room has only 12 tables. We were well pleased with our meal. There were two prix-fixe options for a Saturday evening. We splurged on the 7 course meal. Interesting Japanese influence on French cuisine. A great way to end a memorable... More

Eating here was an outstanding experience. Exciting new and different tastes. The food was served like small pieces of art tasting just as good as it looked. The service was superb. Never experienced anything like it. Rather expensive, but worth it. We'll be back next time in Nice.

We visited for lunch and will most probably do so again in the future. We had 2 x menu déjenuers, with dessert (29 €) and without (23 €). The price for the one with dessert was maybe 1-2 euros too much, but on the other hand I understand that some profit has to be made. Glass of wine was 5... More

Service excellent!!! Restaurant very nice!! Chef is the nicest guy in the world!!!!! However: I was 12 years in Asia, this is French food served by Japanese staff €180 for 2 without alcohol. Crazy (''.) For the same money go to Flaveur, 10x better. Trust me on this!!!

We have eaten here in the evening and decided to try the prix fixe lunch today and we were amazed by it. We had a wonderful tempura amuse bouche, a sashimi salmon starter, I had Dourade, with a risotto and my husband had beef. Both were lovely and we both had the coconut sponge with melted chocolate inside, gorgeous. We... More

Always difficult to choose a restaurant for Christmas Day as often menu’s are too eager to try and please, overdone and too rich! - In the case of Deux Canailles, a small compact but comfortable restaurant down the road from Lac in the Massena area of Nice, the service was very professional and the food a delight. The Japanese Chef... More

We first learned about this charmer from an online video review I found at the New York times website. The Two Scoundrels, Laurent Inoue (maitre d’hotel) and Tsumoru Takano (chef de cuisine) self-described as “great lovers of gastronomy and arts of the table” opened this upscale eatery in February of 2011. My husband and I had a unique dining experience... More
