I have been to La Gargamelle several times and was looking forward to this visit. I have never been so insulted in a restaurant. We travel all over and really enjoy eating out in nice restaurants and never have I ever seen a chef come out of the kitchen and throw a plate down in front of a customer and... More

Having passed this restaurant a few times we were intrigued by the strange interior decor, so different from any other restaurant we've seen in Nice. It would have been clever to make a note of the name and address which would have saved our feet; but we did manage to find it again! The menu looks expensive and when we... More

Enjoyable meal on our first night. We arrived very late after a day touring Nice and after having been knocked back by a couple of other restaurants as they were full or had stopped serving. The waitress was very nice and approachable. Loved the 'antique shop' decor. Struck me as a family run restaurant and very French. Meal was very... More

We just came back from Nice in June. We stumbled onto this restaurant because it was across the street from our hotel, hotel Massena. We thought it was a wonderful restaurant with great food, cozy and cute atmosphere, and reasonably priced. So what if they don't take credit cards. We would definitely come back is we have another chance. So... More

I've been going to this restaurant for several years now and i've never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The hostess is very kind and the room is decorated in an original but homey style that cannot really be described. I stongly recomment this restaurant.

We were the only table from 7pm till midnight, atmosphere was interesting (70s kind of decoration) the menu is on a chalk board and was translated by the lady to English(somewhere on the board in bottom is no credit cards accepted is written but you have to look for it) we learnt this detail when we received the bill, which... Call this quirky, I agree. We were greated in an empty restaurant with " we don't accept credit cards". This is in Nice how many foreigners visit here?! So we went to tha bank round the corner and drew out 50 Euros. Had a lovely meal, good food but very 1970s, a bit over dressed. We made the mistake of... More

The room is very full of antique furniture and pictures with very heavy wooden chairs and tables. Some may find it absolutely charming and others may think it a bit old fashioned and cluttered; but the food is excellent. We shared a plate of fois gras and charcuterie. My wife had a steak in a pepper sauce which she loved,... More

Our experience in this restaurant was very good. It seems like a very authentic french restaurant. the food we got was very good. It might be a little expensive, the mains were about €24-26 but I guess this is the normal for nice.

A small place with good value and excellent quality of dishes, well located near Place Mecina. We went back but found it closed the second time, not sure why. I had a nice prawn with spagetti dish with a quality taste and my wife had an excellent beef dish with a good wine based sauce and as I recall the... More
