Good, reliable find in the Port of Nice

I was taken here by a friend who raved about it. The value at lunchtime was certainly good in that the plat du jour included a generous amount of wine. The food is imaginative such as a starter with quinoa and a main with fish & butternut squash (I think!). So for a real foodie it is probably... read more

Tried to visit given the ratings at 25 mins to closing and they refused saying food was closer. I then asked if I could just have a glass of wine or something was maybe already ready and the waiter again refused. The restaurant was still around 75% full. I doubt everyone would have left by then. Went next door to... More

We have eaten at the Le Bistrot several times mostly lunch. As a general rule the plat du jour at lunch is a bargain as they give you two courses, 1/4 bottle of wine, and coffee all for under 20 euros. Once again as a general rule the food at lunch is imaginative and tasty. However on those occasions when... More

After being greeted by the chef at lunch and again when I arrived for my dinner reservation, I hoped for some fantastic fish and was not disappointed. We had the fish in salt for two and it was perfect! The combination of the large fish and the salt yields an incredibly moist, flavorful dish especially when served with mashed potatoes... More

This is a well recommended restaurant. It is by the Port in Nice, which isnt as idyllic as it sound, as a busy road is between you and the boats. The food was OK, but at the prices they charge i would expect better, and better (and better value) is available nearby! - I wont return

We enjoyed a very long lunch with friends at this busy port-side restaurant & thought is was definitely a cut above lots of other local rivals. The menu has really imaginative flavour combinations; everything we ordered was beautifully presented & delicious. We had lobster salad (decent chunks of lobster meat), & crab salad with sweet roasted red peppers. John Dory... More

Stayed really close and the bistro was recommended by the owner of the apartment we stayed in. The food was beautiful and ordered from a special "mushroom menu". Each course tasty and well presented. A nice Sancerre hit the spot too. If you want to sit inside you probably need to book. We had to sit inside although some outside... More

The Bistrot du Port is a little out of the way on the quai of the Port of Nice. We got there at about 7:30PM and by 8:30 the place was packed. And there is good reason for that. Many locals find the food and prices exceptionally good as we did. The presentations were fine, but the food on its... More

We cycle past this restaurant so much we thought we must stop by and try it. We have read good reviews and we love seafood, for which this place is famed. Sunday lunch seems a good idea because there isn't much to do except swimming and shopping (at those shops that are opened). We were seated outside, under the canopy... More
