Chez Freddy is in a tourist section of Old Nice. I don't think a single native Niceman, Nician, Nicette, or whatever actually eats here. But I was on a quest for Bouillabaisse, a famous southern French fish stew, but I didn't want to spend €40-60 to try something I might not like. Luckily Chez Freddy had Bouillabaisse as a main... Due to a lack of internet connection I could not check trip advisor. What a mistake! As many of the other reviews state, this is very overpriced tourist trap and we felt it. They were quick to seat us and with a party of 9 inc 3 children, that is not always easy. Then the service pretty much stopped and... More

By far the worst meal I have had to date. The service was terrible. My husband and I waited half and hour to be served and then another half an hour for the drinks to arrive. The couple sitting next to us were completely forgotten about. The spaghetti bolognaise, a dish I have eaten in restaurants many a time was... More

Don't bother eating here if you want the fixed price menu of the day. The waiter was most put out when we ordered from it. Main course poor, fish full of bones, lasagne straight from microwave. Total bill for food plus water - €60 + - would have been better at McDonalds.

We ate here for a later lunch on our last day in France and it was outstanding. My husband and I had the spaghetti and seafood, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and other delights of the sea. Lots of garlic, which we loved. The couple next to us raved about their food as well, although I don't recall what they were... More

Restaurant sits in the old town and has a good fruits de mere, but stray away from that and you get stung financially! The most expensive meal we had, and it certainly wasn't the best.

Just in from Chez Freddy and what a horrible experience. Poor service environment, our server was preoccupied with the abuse the server in the next section heaped on her over which tables belonged to him. She did an admirable job recovering from each of his attacks. Our meals did not come out together and by the time I got mine... More

Despite I insist that my food has to be made without butter, cream, milk or any dairy products and it was very seriously about this they ignore it. I asked for a salad ok fine I asked for grilled fish with vegetables and rice. And the rice was made with butter. I just taste it and I asked the waitress,... More
