Nice but expensive

Well, the Marché aux fleurs place is quite nice and is a must see place of the old Nice, ut it's quite busy with tourists and the restaurants are just a reflection of the place. They are nice, the staff is very nice also, the food is a little bit more than ok, but don't expect to eat excellent... read more

This is the description of two of us who ate there. We were a party of 6 and it was overpriced, over cooked and overcharged. My advice is to give it as wide a berth as possible. We had a variety of things to eat from mussels, spaghetti bolognaise, fish soup to calamari. Not good don't bother.

Chose this restaurant on the strip due to the food looking great and the friendly maitre'd. We were not let down. It was very busy but the food and drinks came in a timely manner. The fish was so fresh and tasted really good. The paella (which I had) was superb and the rest of my parties food was also... More

The food was nice but we asked for a beer twice which never came. Our main dishes sat in front of us for nearly 30 minutes then we had to ask four times for the bill before it came. They were more interested in setting up tables than looking after the customers they had. The only poor experience in the... More

Awful food!!!!Just another tourist trap!!! Spaghetti and paella both overcooked and burned, probably cooked several days before.Fish bouillabaisse smelled disgusting and tasted like stale shrimp juice, with some floating unidentified "fish" pieces inside... really... stay away!!!

Seemingly very good place but the service drops once you sit down and the oyster was not good. We didn't get sick from it but it didn't taste good and they were as tiny as it can get. I had a grilled fish as main which was pretty good but I would not recommend this place unless you're in a... More

First night in Nice - very disappointed. Waited over half an hour for main course fish dish (my dining friends had all been served) which then arrived dry & tasteless. Had to ask 4 times for some water & when mentioned to the maitre d, he simply shrugged & walked off! A pity they feel they don't have to make... More

We were persuaded to take a table by an older man (Freddy?) who told us he would do children's portions of the spaghetti dishes on the menu. When the waiter came to take our order we asked for two different children's spaghetti dishes but were told that the children could have chicken nuggets...I explained that we were told before we... We had a lovely meal at Chez Freddy. Two families with two teenage children and we all found what we were looking for. A great selection of seafood and other choices for those not keen on fish dishes and an excellent set menu as well. A relaxed atmosphere in the wonderful location of Cours Saleya. Highly recommended.
