Great place for coquillages

We had lunch at the Le Gambetta on a Monday, at the beginning of Janaury. We were three and we did not have to make reservation. We had lunch inside but there are tables also outside. The place is nice and the people serving has been kind and helpful in helping us in the selection of the food. We... read more

Excellent service by the train station. The oysters are superb and a good price for nice. The platters are of excellent size and value. The wine selection is decent and a good match for the food. I would say that the clientele are local as opposed to tourists.

I thought for the oysters,4 would be my limitation. However, at Brasserie Le Gambetta, I had 9, so tasty with a very reasonable price. The service is warm but not over. The seafood pasta is a recommendation. It costed 68euro for our dinner including drinks.

This is a good place to eat oysters when in Nice. Come for lunch. I would say you get a lot of fine and fresh seafood if you choose one of the platters that they serve, and for a reasonable price too. A lot of locals go here. The staff is very nice (and they seem to enjoy their work)

Had the 25€ panache seafood platter and it was very fresh and tasty. Gave me a good umami food high. The missus had a pot of mussels and frites which were also very decent. Tasted even better with a cold carafe of Rose. Service was also very friendly. Place had good support from locals which is always reassuring to first-timers.

We ate here tonight with locals & were all very happy with our meals. Right beside a fish & fresh food market, the quality of ingredients is superb. We got a mixed starter between the 3 of us, which was ample. The waiter recommended a light white wine to accompany the overall meal & it was perfect. I had the... More

After several hours wandering around in Monte Carlo, we hopped off the train in Nice, one stop before our hotel by the airport. Wandered several blocks from the station, passing bland looking little cafes and fast food joints, then spotted Brasserie le Gambetta. Wow! What a wonderful meal we enjoyed -- our last dinner of our vacation in France. We... More

Went to visit with a friend on the first night of our stay in nice as lots of other places we wanted to visit closed as it was a Monday night. The server we had was lovely and spoke good English to us but the moules were only average and the chips very odd. The wine we had was the... More

Le Gambetta was our local restaurant when we had an apartment in Nice and we always enjoyed their excellent oysters and seafood. This was a return visit after a three year absence and we weren't disappointed. We ordered our old favorites of a dozen Bouzigue oysters followed by the seafood Poellee and Pasta Leon. The service is friendly and efficient... More

This is the place in Nice to eat seafood, they have the best and freshest seafood in town at a reasonable price according to Nice. I strongly recommend the seafood platter as a starter to share for at least two and then a first course such as the bar fillet or prawns and mushrooms. Good selection of local wines (I... More
