In a side street between Place Garibaldi and the harbor, le Vieux Four is a small restaurant filled with locals. Friendly service, unpretentious atmosphere, plat du jour €9.50, 3-course menu €16. Unbeatable, excellent and a wonderful change from the usual tourist mangers.

The Vieux Four is just off Place du Pin, close to our hotel. They have a wood oven for pizzas & meats and the aroma is enticing. On our first visit we had pizza which is very thin crust and one of the best we've ever had. You can taste the smoke flavoring. On our second visit we both had... More

Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel. It was a quaint little place with friendly service. Family owned perhaps because there was an adorable young boy helping the staff. The place filled with locals- a good sign. Had pasta, which was good. My mum had veal which she said was excellent. I had mousse au chocolat for... More

Another visit to our favourite pizza place in Nice. Wood fired pizzas all round and a bottle of house red (€11), one of the best meals out. It is always busy and full of locals which is a good sign. I look forward to returning again.

This is a great little place, unpretentious, with friendly service, a wood fired oven which cooks a great pizza. A pichet of reasonable house red is 9€. Whats not to like?

Some pizza places in Nice serve huge fat greasy crusts and after looking online we found this place. It is a traditional place near the port full of locals enjoying a meal as well as tourists. Tables quite close but that is common in small restaurants. Service was friendly and good. Pizza lovely and the other food I saw go... More

We had salade caprese (14 €). The portion was huge but it was a disappointment. Basically we just wished it ended but there kept being food on the plate. As usual in Nice, the interpretation of the dish was to put the basil in a kind of pesto form. The garlic in the sauce at the bottom of the plate... More

The most delicious pizza - we were the only non-local visitors the evening we went and if the locals use it ...

We had delicious food, a salad and dish of the day. Portions are generous, good value for money. Staff is very nice and friendly, it is possible to communicate in English
