We had dinner there and we had mixed feelings about this restaurant because some courses were good other were very poor. The calamari salad was good, the marinieres mussels were unaccetable, the dessert was ok so at the end of the dinner we really had mixed feelings about this place thinking about the big difference in quality and taste of... Went because it was near to where we stayed and also recommended by owners of the flat we exchanged. A typical local restaurant specializing in seafood and has exterior shellfish bar. A good selection including meats. started with oysters and crevettes which were tasty and fresh. Mains were a filet St Pierre (John Dory) in saffron sauce accompanied by pasta,... More

Last evening in Nice, spent a very pleasant time at La Gauloise, the staff very attentive, food amazing, price reasonable. Waiter explained different quality and size of Oysters, the biggest moules and frites ever! Can't wait for the return visit

My husband and I enjoyed a perfectly delicious and graciously served late lunch at La Gauloise last Sunday. We were served a half dozen of the best, freshest raw oysters we'd had during the week in Nice. For entree, I had perfectly prepared eggs in cocotte with mixed greens salad, and then a beautiful white fish with saffron sauce. A... More

After reading the reviews for La Gauloise on TripAdvisor, we were happy to scout out this restaurant on our visit to Nice last week. What a disappointment it was! When we sat down, we were presented with a two-sided menu, with seafood on one side, and meats and other dishes on the other. We were asked what we would like... More

What we like about this place is that when you come out with friends, who have very different tastes, if you come to la Galoise, you are sure, that any of your friend will find something in the menu that will make him/her happy. It is a place wher you can have not only les fruits de mer, but also... More

This little restaurant is just by the Liberation tram stop, and is patronised mainly by the French rather than tourists. The magret de canard tandoori is a most unusual and enjoyable dish, and the tartare de thon was considered excellent, as was the sole meuniere. Service was very friendly and efficient. We enjoy going to restaurants which are not tourist... More

In Nice recently for nine days, I ate here on three different evenings. The quality was consistent and the staff friendly and helpful. Two particularly memorable dishes, were one of fresh Tuna served on very fine noodles and crisp vegetables infused with coconut and coriander and other eastern but subtle flavours. (from the daily changing board). The fish was moist,... More
