The full name of the restaurant is Le Bistrot des Viviers, which is in Rue Alphonse just N of Blvd V Hugo. This was a hotel recommendation. I was expecting more of a bistro from the name, but it is really a proper restaurant. I had an excellent piece of cod - beautifully cooked, a glass of house white wine... More

On a damp Monday evening we strolled around the corner from our hotel (Exedra, see separate review, not good) hoping that we could get in here on our last night in Nice, we were lucky, the bistro side had 2 free tables, so we settled down for what turned out to be a truly memorable meal. I started with the... More

We chose this restaurant because it had good reviews and was close to our hotel, we are so very glad that we did. We sat outside which did mean that you sometimes had to wait a while before getting attention as it was very busy inside. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, explaining things on the menu. We both... More

We dined at Les Viviers on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fully booked, and yet the service and the meal were both first-rate. It was expensive and worth it. An extraordinary French meal of oysters, bouillabaisse, and the 3-course menu du jour. The soufflé Grand Marnier was perfection. The white wine recommended by the server was Lampe de Meduse... More

We had a very nice dinner in this restaurant, the waitress was very kind and the food special. I would certainly recommend this place. We ended up spending nearly 95 euro each, but they offer also a much cheaper menu of the day for 35 euro not including beverages. There are some flaws though. We made a reservation online for which... Found this place, when looking for a previous restaurant on the same street. It was a Friday night and we arrived at about 8.00pm. Soon it was full. The service was impeccable and the daily choices outstanding. We had a John Dory fish for two, with recommended local wine. It was clear that this was somewhere that single women felt... More

Excellent food and great value....good service but we were rushed too much along the way....we sat down at 7.30 and if the un-smiling waitress had her way, we would have been out the door at 8.00 ...wouldn't mind but it was a very slow Monday night...We were handed the bill and before we even had a chance to open it... Well organised and efficient service yet with a friendly touch which extends to the head chef who visits each table in turn. We had a poached chicken and lobster salad as starter, fillets of red mullet on chard in a piquant tomato sauce for mains then a macaron with raspberry coulis and almond ice cream for desert. Total perfection -... More

The food was perfect. Delicious fruits of the sea. Expertly prepared and great tasting. We chose to dine in the Bistrot. It was way to crowded, so much so that it affected our experience. We will choose the more formal room next time. Good value, tucked away a few blocks from the med.
