Good food and good service

We did the usual tour of the menu boards before selecting this restaurant because it looked reasonably busy and had a pretty extensive menu. My wife and I weren't disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the soup de poisson followed by escalope de veaux and my wife wasn't disappointed with her sea.bass... read more

If you're French, you won't like the welcome ('acceil'). I award the waiter with the Oscar for the rudest and most impatient in the whole of France.....and I have pedigree. I've lived in France for five years! Our waiter, tapping his feet while he took our order, told us that the kitchen was closing and yet served a couple who... More

Our first night in Menton, and we had found the restaurants in the pedestrian street and squares disappointing. We came across La Martina and thought the menu looked interesting, also the customers sitting outside looked happy! We gave it a chance and were not disappointed. We had fish soup and a seafood risotto to start with, and dorade with asparagus,... More

So many restaurants in Menton it is difficult to choose but liked the menu here. My husband had rabbit which he enjoyed. I had veal escalope which was tough. I told the staff when asked if I had enjoyed the meal and my remarks were met with complete indifference! Would not return.

Very nice atmosphere; good food and good prices. Nice staff, they speak FR, IT and a little EN. Good locatoin, some evenings young local artists perform in the square.

Ate on a stormy evening in June. The sea food spaghetti was one of the nicest had for a very long time. Partner had asparagus risotto which was also excellent. All washed down with a bottle of Italian rose. Desert menu had little variety and was disappointing. Worth a visit.

This typical Mentonaise restaurant serves all the classics in a small square in the old town. The set menus are good value and the cooking good (if not perfect) for the type of place. The highlights for us were the desserts! The service is friendly & efficient.

Excellent food, friendly service. The Salade de Pulpe is highly recommended. The two set menus are very good value for money if one takes into consideration the quality of the food.

One of us suffered the next day because the sauce was split & the veal not very good. The other meal was satisfactory being a risotto. The service was initially unwelcoming but this did improve after we had ordered.

La Martina is probably the best of the half dozen or so restaurants in the Place du Cap, albeit by a small margin over Le Stanley. We had very good attentive service -- the key distinguishing factor. Cuisine is Italian but of course their French dishes are equally delicious. In common with most outdoor restaurants on the Riviera, tables are... More
