Little gem down a side street near the train station

Even though we were a large group of people (22), we got great service. The food was very good, and they had a dessert for gourmands (pigs) that had 3 of their best items in miniature for those of us who couldn't choose. It's an attractive, modern room with family pictures on the wall.

It was the restaurant which both tripadvisor and lonely planet recommend. It was not bad but nothing special. Anyhow, the main dish, the duck with special source was nice, and the dessert, tiramisu was good. If you don't have any choiced, this restaurant will be an option.

The love of my life is lying in bed right now instead of running around sunny Cannes, because of the very very average os a moelle and gummy, undercooked beef. Food poisoning is always nice. Also, 45 minutes of waiting for food, because the waiter forgot what was our order and had to take it twice.

Dear zjaworowska, I am really sorry to hear about the "love of your life" misfortune. Nevertheless I have a few remarks regarding your review on my restaurant. It is very unlikely to get food poisoning from a marrow bone as it is made mainly of fat and fat prevents bacteria development. Moreover, I guess I am not the only place... More

Back in Cannes and twice already we've been to La Meissouniere. Claire, the Chef, welcomed us with a huge smile and got to work in the kitchen. My husband is a great fan of the duck with 'secret sauce' and the foie gras burger (well worth a try). Our guest had an excellent steak tartare with the freshest salad ever.... More

Really great small unpretentious restaurant in the heart of Cannes, friendly smiling staff and great food choice! Try the onglet with shallots and just the simple salad starter! Real refreshing change in Cannes to find such simple yet elegant food and inexpensive!

Where else in Cannes are you recognised and welcomed with a huge smile after a six-months absence? Here, that is. The front of house is superb (none of these surly French waiters one encounters sometimes), warm, friendly and helpful - and with great English too. We made this our Quartier General when at Mipcom this October, and ate at La... More

Unlike other reviews, I didn't find the place a "gem". Food was rather luke warm and the vegetables were reheated - the sort of stuff you get in the works canteen.

Called in for lunch and found a French gem. A perfect example of what a French restaurant should be - friendly service and excellent well cooked and presented food. Why couldn't we have found this earlier in our holidays?

Shown to our table in a timely way....full of French locals....very varied menu and interesting twists on some dishes. The Foie as a starter was excellent. The main course was quite a large amount, and I opted for the cold filet mignon......just delightful with a tasty salad and superb dressing. I had ordered a glass of champagne as a surprise... More

I can see why La Meisouniere has received such glowing reviews. The food is delicious, the value good, and the service very friendly. I had a snapper filet and my wife had the onglet, and we could not have been happier. Excellent wine list as well. This is a bistro that attracts custom on the basis of good food and... More
