Having experienced a lot of restaurants in Cannes, I have been seduced by "La Meissounière". An authentic little restaurant owned and ran by Claire who has an incredible talent behind the stoves. It is the place for those who are looking for some sophisticated French cuisine and wine selection at a very fair price. The service is also delightful and... More

We all love beach restaurants when the sun shines, me included but they are over-priced and service can be haphazard. Walk a couple of hundred yards away from the beach, and look out for this place in a small street by Cannes station. Family-run (check out lovely family snaps on the walls inside), this is a not-to-be-missed lunch or dinner... More

What a delightful little find in the heart of Cannes. We started with the salmon tar tare and the foie gras. The foie gras was honestly the best we have EVER had. It was truly melt in your mouth fantastic. Our entrée choices were the duck breast and the calves liver. The duck breast with "secret" sauce was wonderful and... More

Coming from Sydney which has very high food standards in food, i was not at all let down by this modest yet clean and stylish restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food even more so, for any tartare fans out there this is the place to go if you want quality hand chopped tartare with beautiful seasoning. A must... More

we chose this restaurant due to the good reviews and the local ambience and we were totally satisfied about food and price (75 euro in two with two main dishes, a bottle of wine, a sweet and a coffee).

After a couple of disappointing experiences at Pause Café (see separate review), which I used to love, I checked out TripAdvisor and read very good things about La Meissouniere. Despite being on my own, I was offered a table on the (small) terrace, as long as I came by 13.45, which I duly did. The waiter and waitresses were all... More

We found this place through TA and were not disappointed. We ordered the foie gras tagliatelle, scallops and veal (which was not on the menu), the deserts are also to die for. Plus, the place is right in the heart of Cannes, conveniently located from train station.

French food has a special reputation, and here you get it the classic way. Sitting on the terrace, service recommending a sweet Muscat with the foie gras (not on the menu) and happy about us ordering the cote de beouf as a main (rare). Not high cuisine, just very nice bistrot dining. Like!

La Meissouniere was recommended by a friend. And he was totally right about it. Home made cuisine, fresh ingredients, delicious food. And to top all that, very reasonable prices! €18 for a starter and a main dish! The service is very friendly. I had the marinated salmon as a starter, it's yummy! When in Cannes, a meal at La meissouniere... More
