We had a couple of main courses at lunchtime; superb Red Mullet, very tasty lamb wrapped in Aubergine and then, luckily, tried the excellent Tarte au Citron. Top range and we don't say that lightly! Good choice of set menus. Will re-visit before we leave Cannes!

Looked at a number of reviews before heading to this restaurant. General theme seemed to be good food with some people commenting about poor service, particularly about front of house but we decided to give it a try. First impressions were good and we opted for the A la Carte menu instead of set price. Starters were good as was... More

We have visited this restaurant every time we have been in Cannes since 2010. We have enjoyed excellent food and service and have had the pleasure of speaking to the chef. We have recommended the restaurant to French friends who live in Cannes on the basis of our experience. However we have just returned from an evening ruined by the... More

Dear Kent, Sorry for your bad experience and I apologize for the misunderstanding. Our restaurant offer less than 40 seats inside so we have only 4 corners, 1 table near the window who is always wanted when booking (for 4 people), two tables are close to the entrance, 1 table of 4 near the toilet (in answer to the complaints... Le bistro gourmand is a classy typical french restaurant with a more relaxed outdoor seating area for about 10-12 people. The dishes (my veal) was huge (cost about 36 Euro) and was more than enough to feed two people. Fortunately they had warned me about this. The meat was excellent cooked but could have been served with some kind of... More

I booked based on the reviews, and was not disappointed. Tucked behind the back of the food market, this was well off-piste for Cannes Lions delegates by all accounts, as the place was pretty empty when we arrived for early dinner, but on leaving was full of locals- always a good sign. Food was simple and yet really tasty local... More

During our recent holiday in Cannes, we dined twice at Bistrot Gourmand, our favourite restaurant in Cannes. On the Tuesday night the place was packed but the waiter, Marc, ran the show with efficiency and good humour that was a joy to behold. On both occasions we had the 31 euro Gourmet Menu accompanied by a Cotes de Provence red... More

My husband and I decided to try Bostrot Gourmand based on reviews in The Telegraph and Conde Nast Traveller. Unfortunately, we had a stressful and difficult evening. The restaurant, despite being asked prior to making the booking, clearly is not able to meet special dietary requirements. We had a lot of stress communicating requirements again upon arrival and clearly the... More

Not to be missed if you want a great evening in a perfect example of a French Bistrot. Although the service can be slow by some standards; the ambience of the bistrot makes for a great night out. Take your time, suck up the atmosphere. Plenty of alternatives on the menus. Food delicious. Wine reasonably priced. GO!
