Great food and ambience

Really lovely restaurant tucked along one of the old streets close to the Hotel de Ville. Nicely decorated and with a great ambience. Service was good and efficient. Food excellent - especially the creme brulee with Grand Marnier (a must in my view!)

One of our better meals in the Côte d'Azur. The first course of shaved fennel salad was executed as well as can be. The second course of a rabbit pie was also good.

Visiting Le Bistrot Gourmand during the MIPIM real estate conference is probably not the best way to experience this restaurant. The place was packed and was probably a lot noisier than usual. The food was very good. We enjoyed the ravioli starter and followed with the fish and steak main dishes. The creme brûlée and cheese desserts were a perfect... More

Went to this restaurant last night. As a restauranteur myself I cannot rate this little hidden gem highly enough. A fantastic maître 'd with charm and very knowledgable about the food and the wine list. Must have.... The foie gras starter. Textures and flavours in this dish are excellent. Your body emits sounds of pleasure with each mouthful. Seriously it's... More

The food was really good and the atmosphere sophisticate and quiet. But the menu was only in french language (not english or italian) and the waiter was not able to explain the plates not in english nor italian language and seems really annoyed by your presence. So he was approximate, rude and a bit offensive.

I had dinner here with my husband. Cute little place on a side street-authenic French feel. We decided to order from the prix fixe, with 2/3 bottle of red wine. My goat cheese starter was good, but my husband's fish soup just OK. My fish main course was very good but my husband's steak tartar lacked flavor and had a... More

I read the reviews reporting great food and questionable service so with some trepidation I booked a dinner for 14 during Mipcom. I'm happy to report the whole process was a breeze & Guillaume easy and warm to deal with, from working out a personalised menu via email with a stranger across the world in between his lunch and dinner... We were taken here by some local friends. Wandering the streets before meeting up with them, it was pretty clear how difficult it would be to fall on your feet in Cannes if you just tried to choose a restaurant at random, so we were extremely grateful to discover Le Bistrot Gourmand. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced... More

We had a couple of main courses at lunchtime; superb Red Mullet, very tasty lamb wrapped in Aubergine and then, luckily, tried the excellent Tarte au Citron. Top range and we don't say that lightly! Good choice of set menus. Will re-visit before we leave Cannes!

Looked at a number of reviews before heading to this restaurant. General theme seemed to be good food with some people commenting about poor service, particularly about front of house but we decided to give it a try. First impressions were good and we opted for the A la Carte menu instead of set price. Starters were good as was... More
