Excellent....Food porn!!

Went to this restaurant last night. As a restauranteur myself I cannot rate this little hidden gem highly enough. A fantastic maître 'd with charm and very knowledgable about the food and the wine list. Must have.... The foie gras starter. Textures and flavours in this dish are excellent. Your... read more

The food was really good and the atmosphere sophisticate and quiet. But the menu was only in french language (not english or italian) and the waiter was not able to explain the plates not in english nor italian language and seems really annoyed by your presence. So he was approximate, rude and a bit offensive.

I had dinner here with my husband. Cute little place on a side street-authenic French feel. We decided to order from the prix fixe, with 2/3 bottle of red wine. My goat cheese starter was good, but my husband's fish soup just OK. My fish main course was very good but my husband's steak tartar lacked flavor and had a... More

I read the reviews reporting great food and questionable service so with some trepidation I booked a dinner for 14 during Mipcom. I'm happy to report the whole process was a breeze & Guillaume easy and warm to deal with, from working out a personalised menu via email with a stranger across the world in between his lunch and dinner... We were taken here by some local friends. Wandering the streets before meeting up with them, it was pretty clear how difficult it would be to fall on your feet in Cannes if you just tried to choose a restaurant at random, so we were extremely grateful to discover Le Bistrot Gourmand. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced... More

We had a couple of main courses at lunchtime; superb Red Mullet, very tasty lamb wrapped in Aubergine and then, luckily, tried the excellent Tarte au Citron. Top range and we don't say that lightly! Good choice of set menus. Will re-visit before we leave Cannes!

Looked at a number of reviews before heading to this restaurant. General theme seemed to be good food with some people commenting about poor service, particularly about front of house but we decided to give it a try. First impressions were good and we opted for the A la Carte menu instead of set price. Starters were good as was... More

We have visited this restaurant every time we have been in Cannes since 2010. We have enjoyed excellent food and service and have had the pleasure of speaking to the chef. We have recommended the restaurant to French friends who live in Cannes on the basis of our experience. However we have just returned from an evening ruined by the... More

Dear Kent, Sorry for your bad experience and I apologize for the misunderstanding. Our restaurant offer less than 40 seats inside so we have only 4 corners, 1 table near the window who is always wanted when booking (for 4 people), two tables are close to the entrance, 1 table of 4 near the toilet (in answer to the complaints... Le bistro gourmand is a classy typical french restaurant with a more relaxed outdoor seating area for about 10-12 people. The dishes (my veal) was huge (cost about 36 Euro) and was more than enough to feed two people. Fortunately they had warned me about this. The meat was excellent cooked but could have been served with some kind of... More

I booked based on the reviews, and was not disappointed. Tucked behind the back of the food market, this was well off-piste for Cannes Lions delegates by all accounts, as the place was pretty empty when we arrived for early dinner, but on leaving was full of locals- always a good sign. Food was simple and yet really tasty local... More
