Great little find

Having scoured the restaurant scene in cagnes we were struggling to find somewhere that offered non- tourist fodder. La trappe is a great place run by a friendly couple. The food is simple, fresh and tasty and served in a welcoming surrounding. We visited twice during our week long holiday.

As someone who wnjoys not only good food, but superb cooking, the Christmas day meal at La Trappe offered its usual amazing feast. Le patron at La Trappe is a chef. A true chef, whose skill and care translates into wonderful meals. It takes a true guest to understand that he is great. So, sure the service is sometimes what... More

This was a return visit and we were not disappointed.. Great atmosphere as there were a couple of small groups who appeared to be regulars so there was a real buzz. The chef working away alone in the kitchen was so calm and professional as he prepares each order from scratch ... No frozen offerings here. The other half of... More

We ate twice here french food at its best, perfection. Not on the main route, just next to the church on the promenade down a little side street. Fresh fish, mussels to die for and desserts amazing.

An excellent little bijou restaurant a stone's throw from the seafront - the location is truly lovely in a quiet and select part of this corner of the Côte d'Azur. Owned and operated by a couple this little restaurant offers an excellent choice of, principally, fish dishes including fish caught locally on the day - Cros de Cagnes is one... More

It is a small restaurant. Just 1 cook and 1 waiter. Speciality is fish. We had magnificent fish soup as starter and mussels/pasta/ fresh catch of the day. It was all very fresh and very good. Prices are VERY reasonable. Pay attention to the opening hours. At night only 3 days a week

Not in the best place but the food is absolutely amazing, exciting dishes, good krydning! the atmosphere is fantastic, the waiter is a delightful, charming lady, the husband prepares the food. We would have missed this gem if not our friends gave us the hint.

We visited this restaurant on the evening of the Fete Nationale, 13th July, and it was full, as you can imagine. We had not booked, but were warmly received. It was stressed that there would be a long wait before we entered & we were happy to wait. Our initial thought was that there should have been more staff, as... More

This is the 3rd time I have written about this little back street gem. Run by the attentive and friendly husband and wife team, we were the only diners at the establishment which although sad, did not spoil our enjoyment of the evening with fine food and good wine. This is good food reasonably priced where the wine of the... More

We have avoided this restaurant over the past 4/5 years as it never looked busy so we moved past ...but after hearing some very positive comments from people in the area we give it a go twice in the past two weeks. The food and service could not be bettered and we resolve to eat out less and give ourselves... More
