Very Good Bistro Fare--Just What I Wanted

I ate at Le Catalan twice during a recent visit to Beaulieu…and I enjoyed both meals. There is quite an extensive menu of bistro foods here. One night I had a nice pizza from a wood-fired oven, along with a beautiful (and huge) mixed salad. The pizza menu is long and contains some with very... read more

Plenty of atmosphere for a chilly February out of season Tuesday night. Quite a few locals eating. There was nothing particularly wrong with our meal and the service was quick and friendly, however there was also nothing to particularly recommend. We both had the mixed seafood grill. Salmon, sea bream, a large prawn, rice and salsa salad. Everything had a... More

We have been coming to the Le Catalan for 10+ years and have always had great experiences. The food and service are excellent. We frequently come here when we first arrive from the US, with our jet lagged kids and they are alway very kind and patient with my children, making us feel welcome.

We found le Catalan while roaming the streets of Beaulieu-sur-Mer. It is not a bad place for a quick lunch. The service was friendly and it had a large variety of food on offer. For the area to be quiet, it was quite busy. The pizzas were ok, nothing to rave about. The prices were pretty reasonable for a restaurant... More

The restaurant is on the main road, but this has been made one-way and the pavement widened in the last few years, so it is now quite pleasant to sit outside in good weather. The restaurant serves a good variety of staple bistro food. The house rose is a bit thin, but perfectly acceptable for the price.

Not by coincidence it is actually one of the busiest places to eat in Beaulieu. The food, fish and meat, is fresh and of premium quality. Residents and visitors eat there. The chef himself serves the dishes. Good regional wines. And all for very reasonable prices.

Had such a lovely evening here, started with a few Irish coffees outside and ended with fabulous late night pizzas, rugby and great laughs. Fabulous staff, really helpful with my poor French, even wrote words to help with word recognition. Lovely people, stayed till closing and then went back for lunch a couple of days later.

On a Monday it was difficult to find 'cafe's open. This restaurant was open, has a massive menu and plenty of choice. The food was good, the service was ok and the wine was good. Worth a visit if the other more traditional cafes are not open.

Went during week out of season and decided just to have a couple of pizzas. The Restaurant was very busy but staff working hard to try to keep up. Pizzas would have been fine authentic feu du bois good flavours but too much topping made the Riene too soggy and the Sicilienne too salty and intense with way too many... More
