Nice food, nice service but over hyped, overpriced and a little pretentious. We went twice though during our stay so it must have been ok.

I was invited by friends to this restaurant but looking at it from outside I realized it was a tourist trap and I wasn't wrong. The service was rushed with the waiters throwing the plates and not paying attention, while the food was very bad. The pizza had no tomato sauce and tasteless and my canned ravioli was disgusting with... More

I do not like writing bad reviews, and try to stay positive. That said, after two weeks of excellent food and service in France and Italy, I had to write a little bit about how utterly bad this place has become. Bottom line, the food was on the bad side of average, with a couple of dishes, inedible, and the... More

We dined tonite, even though the bad reviews on tripadvisor, we had dined here a year ago and had a similar nice nite. Food is well prepared - its not a michelin restaurant so maybe the reviewers need to reset their expectations. Its in an expensive part of the cote azur so an average price of say 40 euro a... More

We were devastated to be recommended this place on our last night of a short stay in the area. The food was pretty much inedible, and it was a very odd menu, attempting fusion of some kind which did not work in any way shape or form. Good for people watching, as a very wide spectrum seemed to visit, but... More

We visited this restaurant for dinner one weekday evening whilst staying in Beaulieu. It seemed to be popular and had a good atmosphere when you walked past. However, our experience inside the restaurant did not match our expectations. We received a warm enough welcome but once we sat down, the interaction with the staff was lost - we didn't have... More

Despite being a tourist attraction. The African Queen can be very good. We had a lovely evening and fab dinner there on 16 May. Good vegetarian choices, comfortable seating and tasteful décor. The service were good and the waiting staff was very attentive. Prices range fro low to high, something for everyone. Recommended!

I go to the African Queen several times a year, sometimes I ask myself why ? Average food average to better service which very much depends on the waiter you get , and over priced , all that said probably go back soon .

Expensive, but spectacular location. Food generally good. Slightly grotty service, but that is how you know they are genuine french! We have been going for years.. AQ has simply got it right. You pay for it, but its a great meal out.

We have gone to the African Queen at least once every year for the last 4 - 5 years. No more! Over priced for the food, wine and experience. The Truffle Pizza had a homeopathic serving of slices of Truffle. Service far too fast. Staff are very pleasant and friendly. Avoid!
