Good honest fare

Taken there by friends on our short visit earlier this month to Antibes as their good value local and obviously appeals to residents and tourists alike. We went there for lunch on Wednesday in June 2015. We ordered salads. They were both very good with very fresh and tasty vegetables. Absolutely recommended. A bottle of rose wine accompanied it. Good service and friendly personnel.

We just had a fantastic dinner here. Staff were so friendly and helpful to our french-challenged family. They seemed to really appreciate our attempts and even offered us a free rum/ginger shot at the end of our meal. Food (grenouille, fish of the day- sea bass, linguini with clams) was all excellent. I am sorry we came on our last... More

This is what you would hope and expect of a good French bistro. Locals and tourists together eating good food and drinking excellent wine being served by smiling hosts. We visited twice and I will remember the ravioli with black truffle oil, the tempura of sea bream and the risotto as some of the best meals I've had this year.... More

The warmth was in the welcome from Madame and her staff, and "tasty" is my assessment of what the kitchen produced. An authentic French bistro with delightful Lyonnaise influences: my only slight reservation, the quenelle of pike (a staple of Lyonnaise cooking) was a little on the stodgy side, but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

It is complicated to find a good place to eat in Cote D'Azur with homey food. Bistro 44 is a good option, prices in the same line than the rest of Cote D'Azur, good food and wonderful people serving you. I would totally go again. Enjoy!

We ate here on a truly awful rainy evening, the welcome was warm and friendly and the food was pretty good. We had the 30 euro menu and were not disappointed with any of the dishes. This is a small casual restaurant and seating is close together so maybe not great for a romantic meal, also parking close to the... More

This small family restaurant is packed with "locals". Always a good sign in my book. We both chose the 30 euros prix fixe menu. Smoked salmon and French onion soup to start followed by slow cooked pork and breast of duck for mains. The desserts were freshly prepared and the pictures say it all. We were well fed for 95... From the Camembert appetizer to the amazing fish/foie gras main course to the lemoncello/lemon sorbet dessert, an outstanding meal. Friendly service, in an engaging bistro atmosphere.
