Bistro 44 is a very authentic French brasserie "around the corner". The menu claims to be French but is rather international. The owner is a really nice lady and staff is helpful. Many tourists there. Food was nice but not fancy at all.

We went there twice actually and the 2nd time we went for the menu at 30Euros(first time we took the 28Euro menu). 2nd time was the best with a steak as the main course- followed with half a bottle of cooled redwine. At last a restaurant which chilles the red wine before it is served. The temperature of the wine... More

Situated on the Boulevard Albert 1er, near the archeological museum, on the one way system. Parking relatively easy opposite, on the front. We were recommended by friends who reside nearby, and friends who had just returned from France .... well 'what a little gem'. French Lyonnaise cuisine with a very unusual interesting menu. Very friendly jovial staff especially Nathalie. Not... More

I had the tuna, an excellent course prepared perfect. My company had the pasta with fresh truffles, sort of a boing course with nothing special except the fresh sprinkles of black truffle. The surroundings could have been improved, no music and quite noisy from the street. The cosy feeling just didn't settle in. The food gets a 4 out of... More

Taken there by friends on our short visit earlier this month to Antibes as their good value local and obviously appeals to residents and tourists alike. No silly Côte d'Azur prices here but at lunchtime several choices from the menu of the day or a la carte. The veal kidneys were excellent, the sea bass fresh and attractively presented as... More

We went there for lunch on Wednesday in June 2015. We ordered salads. They were both very good with very fresh and tasty vegetables. Absolutely recommended. A bottle of rose wine accompanied it. Good service and friendly personnel.

We just had a fantastic dinner here. Staff were so friendly and helpful to our french-challenged family. They seemed to really appreciate our attempts and even offered us a free rum/ginger shot at the end of our meal. Food (grenouille, fish of the day- sea bass, linguini with clams) was all excellent. I am sorry we came on our last... More

This is what you would hope and expect of a good French bistro. Locals and tourists together eating good food and drinking excellent wine being served by smiling hosts. We visited twice and I will remember the ravioli with black truffle oil, the tempura of sea bream and the risotto as some of the best meals I've had this year.... More

The warmth was in the welcome from Madame and her staff, and "tasty" is my assessment of what the kitchen produced. An authentic French bistro with delightful Lyonnaise influences: my only slight reservation, the quenelle of pike (a staple of Lyonnaise cooking) was a little on the stodgy side, but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
