Nice little surprise

We were looking where to have lunch on a Monday. Found this one and decided to give it a try. What a nice surprise. Asked for a cold cut sampler, delicious. Main entries were beef tartare and gorgonzola raviolies. Really, really good. Service was good and fast. All in all was a great experience... read more

Close to the square of this cool little city and on the edge of the old Jewish quarter is a really fine find. Our driver who taxied us from Marseilles to Avignon took a liking to us and clued us in to this gem. He even made reservations. We worried we were getting railroaded to a tourist trap but our... Just off the tourist trap area around the palace of the popes this little restaurant serves seriously good food at a very reasonably price. I had a fricasee of veal that was creamy and buttery and was full of wonderful wild mushrooms. Their pitchers of wine were excellent. This is a place that will give you a great lunch for... More

Excellent value for money, especially the set menu dinner at 19 euros a head. I recommend the duck breast with mango starter, and the entrecote main course. Nice selection of wines by the glass, and very friendly service.

This was such a great discovery - tucked away in a little corner. They have a brilliant selection of wines and we loved the meat and cheese platter that we shared as a starter. The mains (we had fish and pork) were also delicious.

Recommended by the hotel as there are not many places open on a Monday. Group very tired after journey so our review might not do the place justice. Service was great. Food variable, but all was eaten, duck & chicken dishes were OK. Average wine list prices for Cote de Rhone Villages 24 euros, was very drinkable. The cold meat... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and is near the Palais des Papes on Place Jerusalem. There is nothing fancy about this place but the food is really fine. I enjoyed beef and frites as well as a very fresh green salad. The beef was cooked perfectly, as requested. The service was efficient and the atmosphere relaxed. This is... More

The service here was excellent. Our food was mediocre although the meat and cheese platters looked delicious. Our group members were all very tired and so perhaps didn't give the place justice. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and outside seating.

This was a great lunch time stop for a party of 8, with mixed tastes, all of which were easily catered for

It was around lunch time in Avignon when we came upon two restaurants, a Pizzeria or the AOC. For no apparent reason we went for the AOC, perhaps because the terrace was shadier on this hot summer's day in Provence. The menu looked very interesting. We each went for a different dish, Caesar Salad, Iberico pork and a tartare of... More
