Amazingly delicious, excellent service and reasonably priced!

My husband and I had a great visit to Christian Etienne. The tasting menu was delicious and extremely well priced. When we asked the server to recommend which menu, he encouraged the least expensive one, along with an extremely affordable (yet delicious!!) bottle of wine. Each course was top notch... read more

Last night we had dinner at a Michelin restaurant in Lyon. Tonight this one in Avignon. Both excellent, but I'm glad I had the meal last night as it gives me better perspective for this review. The atmosphere was much more relaxed, but the service still friendly and excellent. We started with a 2006 champagne which kicked everything off right.... More

Nice location. Satisfactory food. Slightly pricey, so better go for the lunch tasting menu if you don't have a fat pocket. Serves good wine.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Christian Etienne. Meal was absolutely lovely. My husband had the Lobster menu while I had the Grand Palais menu. With the lobster menu, chef Etienne had cleverly used each part of the lobster and paired it with seasonal vegetables and cook with different sauces and styles. The Grand Palais menu was delish... This is actually a rewrite of a review I posted earlier (the star-system got screwed up and I wanted to make sure my review accurately reflects the superb quality of every aspect of the meal). In any case, to provide context - We were in Avignon on our honeymoon as a 3-day pitstop between Barcelona and Florence. The restaurant was... More

Upon entering the space and leaving at the end (we hated to leave) was one of my best experiences in a restaurant. Mr. Etienne makes you feel right at home. He even called the person who recommended us back in NY to thank him right then and there. Incredible experience. One of a kind night.

I had the lunch menu at this remarkable restaurant: three smallish courses, but you also get an amuse geule and some lovely sweet things with coffee so it was absolutely sufficient for my appetite. Indeed, I left out breakfast beforehand... Each course was a discovery in itself, a subtle blend of different tastes, all quite distinct but in harmony. Nothing... More

The meal I enjoyed here was one of the mist enjoyable dining experiences I can remember. Staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The tasting menu was simply wonderful and the accompanying wines, recommended by the sommelier were a perfect match. Not cheap - but superb.
