We've eaten in restaurants all over the world. Mr. Etienne's restaurant is definitely in the top five. Loved it....

Upon entering the space and leaving at the end (we hated to leave) was one of my best experiences in a restaurant. Mr. Etienne makes you feel right at home. He even called the person who recommended us back in NY to thank him right then and there. Incredible experience. One of a kind night.

I had the lunch menu at this remarkable restaurant: three smallish courses, but you also get an amuse geule and some lovely sweet things with coffee so it was absolutely sufficient for my appetite. Indeed, I left out breakfast beforehand... Each course was a discovery in itself, a subtle blend of different tastes, all quite distinct but in harmony. Nothing... More

The meal I enjoyed here was one of the mist enjoyable dining experiences I can remember. Staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The tasting menu was simply wonderful and the accompanying wines, recommended by the sommelier were a perfect match. Not cheap - but superb.

The food and presentation is exactly what you'd expect in a Michelin stared restaurant. However, Chef Christian Etienne takes a personal interest in your dining experience and makes you feel at home! I wanted my three hour lunch to continue all afternoon. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable and the Sommelier is fantastic. I will return to Avignon just... More

Everyone should go and experience what a real French restaurant is about. Provencal products, amazing modern and classic flavour combination, and perfect service and location. Christian Etienne welcomes you personally to his beautiful restaurant overlooking the Pope palace in the heart of Avignon. Having traveled extensively for almost 50 years through Europe, Asia and the Middle East, my two experiences at Christian Etienne have been the most memorable. Avignon is one of Europe's most charming historic cities and the restaurant is located overlooking the main square and the Palais du Papes. The decor is fine and understated and the attention to detail is... More

Let me first start off my saying I loved the decor and the people were attentive and friendly. I also want to add that I consider myself quite the foodie after extensive traveling over the world and dining in many 5 star restaurants . Advice here is not to listen to your waiter . Not sure if he was trying... More

Four of us went for lunch and all ordered the tomato tasting menu (seven small courses all made with tomato). It was 75 Euros per person. The service was outstanding, the decor relaxed, the staff laid back (the chef is hands-on and came out take orders and pose for pictures). The food was delicious and creative and the amount of... We had an excellent meal here, in a lovely 14/15th century conversion. Greeted by Chef Ettiene, and treated to a glass of Laurent Perrier on the house, the welcome made us feel very special. The tasting menu was epic. The food was well executed, inventive and presented with elegance. It was delicious. Service was non intrusive, discreet and attentive. We... More

We like good food as you can see from my other assessments on Trip Advisor and regularly visit 1-2 Michelin Star Restaurants. OK it was our fault that we arrived too early at the restaurant, as it only opens 19:30. This was also clearly specified during the reservation, but I am getting old and I messed it up and still...
