Wow !

We had La Princiere down on a list of guidebook recommendations, but only at the last moment did we discover that it was only 20 yards from our apartment, but didn't open until a couple of hours before our train was due to leave. This shop was near our holiday rental and recommended on TA and Yelp. It did not disappoint. The sorbet litchi et rose is probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Our whole family loved it so much that we went every day for a daily fix and the kids wouldn't order ice cream anywhere else. Other flavors we tried... More

The ice cream here is incredible! Every flavor is perfect, fresh, and delicious! The staff is extremely friendly and kind! All three times we went, the store was pleasantly not crowded, making this a perfect ice cream experience. If you're in Avignon and want ice cream, come here!!

After very disappointing ice cream in Aix-en-Provence (sickly sweet, icy, yuk!), we decide to try again in Avignon. And thankfully we were rewarded! There were probably about 12 flavours to choose from and lady serving happily let us try a few first. The ice cream was smooth, creamy and you could just tell that real ingredients were used. They were... More

We had the dark chocolate and melon ice cream which were both amazing. However, they were rather pricey and the lady behind the counter was not welcoming at all.

We hadn't read TA but just popped into this ice salloon. The waiter was incredibly friendly. The price 'shocked' me a little bit (2.8 EUR for just one scoop) but once I had my first lick, I knew this ice cream was well worth its price. I even think about going back tomorrow. Probably in my top 3 or 5... More

This shop serves wonderful ice cream that is homemade with wonderful inventive flavors that included toasted almond (yum) and flowery lavender (not for me). Prices are 2.69 Euros for a scoop. They also have bigger servings, plus a whole range of desserts. Has indoor and outdoor tables.

Overhyped. Order not well understood (no chantilly). But got bottle of water. Ice had frozen pieces (so was defrozen somewhere?). No fresh fruit in the ice used. Very, very expensive (3,50 per boulle). Wine was on the card, but only possible with dinner (so needed to change thoughts while waiter was waiting, not needed if card was clear). Anyhow, after... Taken here by our gourmet guide Aurelie, she told us this is one of the top "glaciers" (ice maker) in France. She did not disappoint us: A couple of nights earlier we had a delicious desert in Les Verger des Papes (Chateanuef du Pape, highly recommendable) that served us lavender ice cream. At that time we thought it could not... More

We searched out this cafe after reading the reviews on TA. The ice creams and sorbets were certainly delicious, but at €4.50 for two scoops...?
