Don't be fooled by the English sounding meals - they are definitely cooked by a very talented French chef. Looking at the prices it would appear to be pricey, but when the meal arrives it is accompanied by salads, fruits, cheese, chutneys, etc. depending on what you order. Don't eat breakfast before you go to lunch as the meals are... More

Little jewel of a place. Interesting main courses but the crowning glory is the desserts and wonderful cakes. Fabulous cheese cake, sticky toffee pudding etc., etc., etc.! Not too mention the choice of teas. Interesting place too. Olde worldy with different styles of teacups and tea pots on display. Just right after an afternoon of shopping!

Slices of cakes are generous and cakes are very good. Its maybe too sweet if we consider the french taste. But you must arrive early if you dont want to cueue outside.

We have lived in the South of France for 10 years and over this time have visited Avignon often, many times with friends from England last Wednesday we set off from the central railway station and instead of going straight on or turning left decided to explore the side streets to the left after a pleasant hour or two it... A lovely quaint building with impeccable service. The puddings were on display and tasted as good as they look. Nice atmosphere and location was easy to find. Just like grandma's kitchen!

Just around the corner from La Fourchette in a quiet but unassuming little back street. An English tea house which served a large choice of dishes both English and French and an amazing choice of cakes and desserts ( We actually bought a take away dessert , a tart, which was delicious ) A very interesting little restaurant with a... While on our anniversary trip to France, my wife and I enjoyed an abundance of rich, French cuisine. Because there is only so much of this decadent food that can be enjoyed, we decided to throw a little variety in the mix by visiting an English tea room. The table full of desserts when first entering is quite enticing. As... More

Ideal for some calm during a busy afternoon. We open the door and we are entering a new world. Nice decor, delicious cakes, teas and lots more.

We were meeting friends in Avignon, and needed a lunch place. Someone looked on TripAdvisor and came up with Le Simple Simon. Now it will seem weird to eat at an English place in the heart of French Avignon, but it was said that the desserts were delicious, and it wasn't too far a walk from the Palace of the... More

Perfect in every way. The only downside, it's pricey. Beautiful English tea room done with French panache. The Whitby Salad blew my mind (especially the salmon pate), the dessert induced a food coma (crumble served with cream and custard, just as good as my mum's). Superb place for lunch. Be warned, go steady on breakfast, it's not light.
