An unexpected pleasure!

A tiny restaurant tucked away in an alleyway that we stumbled upon by chance and ended going back there every day for lunch. It is run by just three people: the owner, a chef, and a waiter, they work incredibly hard (lunch and dinner every day except Tuesday evenings) and between them they know how... read more

What a lucky accident that we found EAT as we explored the streets of Avignon. It just looked so inviting and quiet that we stopped for a delicous mid-day meal. Each bite was a taste sensation and the food was beautifully presented. The server/owner is a lovely person who took the time to explain things patiently in French. A wonderful... More

We were staying right next to EAT and decided to venture in for dinner. The decor is pretty and perfect for the small space and the food was the best of the best! I had the lamb dish which melted in my mouth and was loaded with fresh vegetables. My hubby had the steak dish which was the most tender... More

We were lucky enough to find EAT while we're wandering the streets of Avignon. I've since read a number of reviews by happy customers, who commented that the place was hard to find - this may be one of its charms as it is not among the bewildering array of restaurants, cafes and bistros in the main tourist areas and... We dined at EAT in late April. Located at the end of a small lane, it is a really lovely small restaurant which provided wonderful food, excellent service and environment, all at exceptionally good value. Each of our dishes was beautifully prepared and presented; looked good and tasted good. My starter was a visual feast (see the photo) and just... More

There are so many good places to eat in Avignon and making sure you pick the right one for a special occasion is important. Luckily I found this one on Trip Advisor and it far exceeded my expectations. More importantly, my wife was blown away and had a smile on her face for the whole meal which got bigger and... More

Most of the earlier reviews have said it all. Place- hard to find and tucked in a little corner in a tiny lane.If I didn't read tripadvisor, I wouldn't have even known it existed. Food- lovely plating, tasty, generous portions! We ended having to share desserts as we were too full! Service- the lady owner was really very sweet. Perpetual... More

Small place, hard to find. Food is quite nice, portions are large, service by the cook's wife is excellent. Price very reasonable. The Spanish ham (pato negro, jamon iberico) serving is huge. Steak was better than we had earlier in the week in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Following an all day excursion, we were wandering to find a restaurant with availability and happened upon EAT. The small space quickly filled to capacity with a mix of tourists and locals.I had filet and my husband had the Spanish ham plate. Both were well prepared with very fresh veggies. We shared a lemon tart with meringue topping which was... More

Visited on a quiet Monday night. The food was interesting and tasty. The squid was probably the best I've had. The waitress was friendly and very supportive of my poor attempts to speak French.
