The creme brûlée!

Delightful waitress. So helpful. Delicious fresh food. Leave room for the BEST creme brûlée in the world.

Stumbled upon this backstreet treat accidentally when we were lost during the day and returned that night. The reviews here are spot on, although I didn't feel it was 'trendy' at all. They have a limited menu that is simple and supurb at the same time. The hostess is absolutely charming. Great value also! A visit to the bathroom is... More

We always wonder where to go for a dinner in Avignon on Sundays as many of the restaurants are being closed this part of the year. Today we have tried the Why Not and were nicely surprised. The food was delicious. The menu was rather simple, but all we have selected (pumpkin soup with foie gras and grilled calamari as... More

A rather contemporary decor with excellent food. We were quite impressed with the pairings of some tastes that were sometimes unusual together. Nice house wine. A bit difficult to find as it's just OFF the street tucked back sharing a patio area with another restaurant.

If you like good but affordable food than you can't go wrong with the Why Not. The dishes aren't the big classics but they have the classic ingredients from the Provence but cooked in a different manner. I'm sure there are better restaurants in Avignon but it is good enough to come back. Service was very good, friendly and helpful.... More

So it was our 3rd choice with choice one being booked solid and choice 2 being closed for holiday. I was worried when the hotel said they never heard if this place. Well worry not. WhyNot is a real find. It was our best meal by far in Avignon and probably for the whole week! Amazing good value as well.... More

The food is good but not exceptional: above average. Service is slow. I have been to better restaurants in Avignon.

We dined here after seeing all of the positive comments on this site. We were disappointed with most of our meal. My risotto was undercooked and I could not eat it. My mother enjoyed her fish entree but the accompaniment was too spicey to eat. I loved the oreo tiramisu dessert. This restaurant seemed to be doing a good business... More

A delicious restaurant at affordable prices near the center of Avignon. Service was extremely good. The waitresses came by quite often to check if everything was alright and were very polite and always smiling (something rare in France). I would recomend you order the crème brulée as a dessert, it's one of the best I've ever had. The place is... More

Thanks to the review, we avoided the worst and found this gem hidden away in the north east part of the old city. Limited menu: a fish, rissoto, pork, beef. That's it. Had a delightful meal thanks to an excellent staff all proud of their work.
