Quiet p.ace out of the wind.

This was a delicious basic meal. The pizza Diavolo was outstanding! This was served with their (optional) chili infused olive oil. We also had a Ceasar salad that was only average due mostly to an overly sweet dressing and an excess of tomatoes. Good red house wine, very friendly service and they... read more

We stopped for lunch here and had a veggie pizza (sans fromage) and a Sicilian penne pasta. Both were really gorgeous and the service was efficient and friendly. The outside setting, by the walls in a back street square but near enough to the main drag, is really atmospheric. Very reasonable prices for better than average food.

We went to have a quick lunch and got shocked finding a used finger bandage in my wife's salade. Went to the kitchen and saw the chef with a new bandage. Got excuses at first and the meal was offered, lol! From then, they didn't even look at us anymore and let us dripp off like it was our fault.... More

We went to have late lunch after having a very busy morning filled with tourism as we went there during the Festival. We wanted to be somewhere quietter as everything was too much between the people that want to give you flyers for their shows, tourists, etc. We loved the corner with big trees covering their terrace which makes it... L'Hermitage - good food, steak, tartare, pizza, lasagne, nice setting, efficient service. Not gourmet and not French. The food is Italian and essentially a trattoria style. i.e. Good honest food, rustic, full-flavored.

What an amazing dining experience in this secluded corner of Avignon. The food was beautifully presented, of outstanding quality and utterly delicious. The service was attentive and unobtrusive... The young waiter was to die for! We will return!

Went there on our last visit to Avignon...we stumbled upon this nice restaurant by mistake. It is defined as french-italian cuisine. However, I found it more Italian. The prices are nice, for 13.90 you can get and appetiser and an entree or an entree and dessert... The food is good and served with some fines...the waiters are very nice and... More

We were a group of 8 (five adults and three children) and approached the waiter to see if they could seat us at some empty tables at the front of the restaurant, and asked for the menu. The owner of the restaurant came forward and began shepherding us towards the back of the restaurant, obviously keen on the business, but... More

FANTASTIC food. I was walking around hungry, and the streets were relatively empty since it was november and many were watching the soccer match. I was lured in by the inviting atmosphere of this place, and the smell once I entered sold me. Each course I ordered was shockingly good (and incredible value), and the waiter's wine recommendations were just... More
