Delightful restaurant!

Fou de Fafa deserves its high ratings! We lucked in our first night in Avignon. Dinner was above and beyond. Before we left, at our request Antonia gave us recommendations for her favorite restaurants. All three were wonderful. Their food is SO good, their welcome even more so. Fou de Fafa deserves its high ratings! We lucked in our first night in Avignon. Dinner was above and beyond. Before we left, at our request Antonia gave us recommendations for her favorite restaurants. All three were wonderful. Their food is SO good, their welcome even more so. Why aren't there more 20-30 seat restaurants with husband-wife proprietorships in the... More

Our b&b hosts suggested eating at this restaurant. It is in the old city part of Avignon. It was very goo food. It is run by a husband and wife team with the husband the chef and the wife running the front of the house. They both did an outstanding job. Judging from the crowd on the Tuesday night we... More

We had a 3-course dinner with Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine. Both the dinner and the wine were one of the best dinner experiences I've ever had, and the price was very reasonable.

Everything to perfection. It was easy to get a walk-in table for the evening with it being off season.

It's definitely not #2 in Avignon. Food lacks flavor and seasoning. The dessert selection is quite poor, you'd expect more being in France. For starters we had scallop soufflé and chicken soup. The soup was good, the soufflé was tasteless: no flavor at all. The main course was disappointing: cod fish with mashed potatoes & some kind of sauce lacked... More

We are visiting from California where I thought we had good French food. But my eyes have been opened.Fou de Fafa (meaning? There is no definition, it's name is just fun to say!). Getting reservations is tricky. We stopped in and made them. The food is fabulous. To start we had a scallop flan as well as a goat cheese "package"in a perfectly baked, ultra... More

Fabulous meal served by one of the most professional waitresses I have had the pleasure of encountering. Nothing was too much trouble. The tables were well spaced, so many restaurants would have doubled the tables and ruined the ambience. Music was pleasant but not loud enough to disturb conversation. Wine list was adequate. It was one of those perfect evenings!... More

This restaurant was recommended and booked for us by Philippe of Thames Residences in Avignon, and if he had not suggested it, we would have walked straight by on our way to the main areas of the walled city of Avignon. The couple that own the restaurant are English, and if the food that was presented to us was in... More

So glad we managed to get into this restaurant. It's a must. Run by an English couple who speak fluent French. Lovely setting with tables set far apart so you don't have to rub elbows with the people next to you - something you don't often find in France! Food fantastic. Great presentation. Lady owner ran the show smoothly and... More

........this restaurant deserves it. On the night we visited, and so it seems on most other nights as per other TA reviews, they were running on all cylinders. There seasonally inspired menu is not only well prepared and presented, but reasonable priced. A 3 course menu will cost you a mere 31E. The wine list is minimal, but again fairly... More
