We were lucky enough to get the single unreserved table on the day of our visit -- we went 10 minutes before they opened at 6:30, and by 6:30 there were 3 groups waiting. Fortunately, we were the first. So reservation is essential. On to the food and service: The food was great. We particularly loved the salmon tartare --... More

I saw all the reviews but the cooking is average and the selection of starters and mains aren't great. Trust me, if you are a half-decent amateur chef, you could do better at home. I had a very average goats cheese stater and duck main. There are much better places to eat in Avignon if you hunt them out.

We read about Fou de Fafa on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. Whilst its menu is relatively non-French it was simple food done very well. Great service from the husband and wife team who obviously value doing a great restaurant as they do not overbook themselves. We saw people turned away disappointed because they did not book. Would... More

What a wonderful meal at Fou de Fafa. The service was superior and so perfectly charming. The food was fantastic and the price was incredibly reasonable. We tried all the favorites recommended by the reviewers on tripadvisor and they were wonderful. Had a delicious local wine that was suggested. Loved the atmosphere which was comfortable and spacious. So email and... More

The owners and operators do it right here. Quality over quantity. Straight forward food and genuinely personal service. If you are looking for a pretentious meal head elsewhere. Very kind to us non-French speakers. These folks are into their business and it shows. Keep it up! s/ your fans from Florida

The couple who own and operate the restaurant have set their standards high and it shows in everything about the place. They use seasonal produce from local suppliers so it's fresh and prepared simply - just brilliant. The main thing you need to know is book - the place is filled to capacity on the night we went, they don't... More

Knowing we'd be arriving on the Eurostar late afternoon in Avignon after traveling all day, I thought it would be wise to make a dinner reservation at a great place. As Fou de Fafa was so highly ranked on nearly every website I saw, and they all said book in advance, I took a chance and emailed to inquire about... More

My husband and I were staying in Avignon and I had previously looked on trip advisor for a restaurant local to where we were staying. We chose to eat at Fou de Fafa and were very impressed. We were shown to our table by the owner, a lovely lady who made us extremely welcome and comfortable. We were given a... More

Not too far from a parking garage, we had a great experience in this fine restaurant. Operated and owned by a young couple who serve as chef and wait staff, a fixed menu of three courses (with a delightful amuse-bouche) was only 30 euros, an unbelievable bargain in an area where you could have two hamburgers for that price. The... More
