We called during the afternoon to make a reservation and got no answer. Well, a few hours later, the owner called us back because he saw that he had missed our earlier call. So, we made a reservation for dinner. Now that is service! This is a wonderful French restaurant. You do not need to speak French because you simply... More

Our villa owner recommended this restaurant and we made. Saturday night reservation at 8pm... Well, the restaurant didn't fill until after 9! We were fine with that because it was as if the chef/owner were our private cook and we were in his home. He is head of the house, the only chef in the kitchen, your waiter, and the... More

We read about the restaurant in TA. It sounded good. It was not good, it was truly extraordinary. The chef is an artist with cooking, and with presentation. My wife had the St. Pierre fish plate. She kept telling me how good it was. I had the beef. It was absolutely wonderful. We each had the house wine. My wife... More

We had read the good reviews on Tripadvisor and called to reserve a table. This is not a place you would normally pass by as it is not on the usual tourist route. The interior is very small and modern. The chef was on his own as they had just re-opened after their summer holidays. He was cool and calm... More

Away from the busy, touristy Rue des Teinturiers bistrot 'strip', you'll find a very plain street which Le Chapelier Toque sits on. Having so few people around might make you think that it's not worth visiting, but it very, much is. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was one of our best meals in France. The chef... More

We found a business card in our rented apartment and thought we would give it a try. We booked on Tuesday for Thursday evening for 7pm, (last night.) We had a wonderful meal, it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The dining area is very small, about 18-20 covers, but what it lacks... More

We went in on a holiday and luckily got a seat at lunch, not because it was packed but because he was closing soon. We has a choice of 2 starters and 2 mains. We had scallops carpaccio and white fish each. Absolutely outstanding. Prepared to perfection and the white fish was cooked perfectly. Great local wine. If you plan... More

This tiny place is off the beaten track in Avignon, but I would walk there on my knees to indulge in the dishes the chef turns out. My companion and I shared foie gras marinated in whiskey; immaculately fresh scallop carpaccio in truffled olive oil; snapper roasted with fresh thyme; guinea fowl stuffed with foie and served with tiny glazed... Tiny place with interesting décor. Very small menu that in France pretty much assures that all ingredients are very fresh. Restaurant was recommended by B&B proprietor and located in a bit out of the touristy area, so you are unlikely to find it on your own.

This is a simple review. I invited a friend to lunch on her birthday. he Chef proposed a first course and main course (scallops, then lobster). After lunch my friend said: "This is the finest meal I have ever had in Avignon." What more needs to be saiad?
