Just back from a week travelling up from Marseilles to Beaune. Was expecting a fantastic night out at this restaurant but we were all very very disappointed. Recommended by Lonely Planet with a price range of 15-25 €, we were hoping for decent value for money. I am not sure what the lonely planet reviewers ordered as fare but there... More

LA CUISINE DU DIMANCHE matched the food we ate in Paris at restaurants with "stars", and at La Cuisine Du Dimanche the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and not stuffy. We spotted the restaurant when walking around Avignon and when trying to find out more about it, we learned that the chef (owner) cooks whatever looks good at the market that... More

Our hotel owner recommended this restaurant, and it was excellent. Our French language skills are limited and the restaurant owner spoke little English but we managed just fine, partly by entrusting him to help us with our selections. I started with an artichoke-like appetizer that turned out to be a thick soup, and my wife had the fig salad, which... More

This restaurant meal in 'old town' was terrible and cost us over $100 for two people. Our lamb dinner turned out to be lamb stew - very salty and sinewy. We felt like it was 'yesterday's leftovers'. Dessert was mediocre. Compared to all the wonderful restaurants in Provence this was the absolute worst. The service was poor. The owner clearly... More

We had a very nice dinner in this restaurant. We have been welcomed by the husband of the Chef, he has been nice and genuine. After the dinner we had the pleasure to be visited by the Chef a nice and elegant lady who really love her job. You can taste and feel it in each and every dishes. We... More

We were seated outdoors under a canopy in a little alley attached to the restaurant. The owner seated us and served. His wife is the chef. She goes to the market every day and buys what looks good to her. He brought us an amuse bouche, of smoked salmon and some whipped cream and dill that was amazing. My husband... More

After spending a week in the food cradle of France we kept this restaurant as a treat for our last night. We had read about it in the tourist guide and walked past earlier in the week to look at the menu. The service, admittedly, was somewhat chaotic but in a funny way that made things feel more genuine and... More

I went with my boyfriend to la Cuisine du Dimanche for dinner. We sat inside as the garden was fully booked. We ordered a main dish each, my boyfriend ordered lamb and I ordered Lasagna with goats cheese. Both dishes were fantastic! A piece of art each. To reach this level of cooking Marie is a real artist. The desert,... More

Probably the best meal I've ever had! The staff made us feel like home, the wine was splendid but the dishes made it all feel like a complete evening. Not too big, not too small, healthy and beautifully tasty. Superb!!

It is a slow cooking/service restaurant but it advertises this so we expected longer delays than we actually experienced. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Only one man (the husband) serves and his wife Marie cooks. The food was aaaaabsolutely delicious. The best we had in all of France. We went with 3 dishes; the pork, the scallops and... More
