We went to this place because it was well reviewed in the UK press. The lunch menu, apparently, "was a steal" ...unfortunately there wasn't one ... stolen, perhaps ?. It is a restaurant that has been squeezed into an alley between two buildings and then covered with a plastic roof. It has then been decorated by someone who has paid... More

We chose this restaurant because our 10th Edition (latest) Lonely Planet Guide rates this the top pick. The restaurant is rather creative in its cuisine, and as long as the recipe works, that is fantastic. We chose entrees and mains, being 3 different dishes. Both our entrees were fabulous, but we both felt the slow cooked lamb was rather lacking... More

I never write reviews and, well, given my dining experience at La Cuisine du Dimanche, I had to make a point of changing that. My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant and almost walked past it since there were not many people dining there on that given evening. But, as we read the menu closer, we saw that the... More

Extremely fresh in all senses of the word. Eclectic menu by a top chef. I have no idea what she is doing in Avignon - My impression is that her resume could put her pretty much anywhere she would like. It is a bit sad and strange to see the restaurants with tables on the sidewalk serving fries and handing... More

A good menu attracted us inside. The waiters were very helpful explaining the dishes and obviously enjoyed serving the carefully prepared food. It's best to sit right inside, away from the drainpipe. Nice ambience, nice meal, nice experience.

We made a reservation by phone but, due to my poor French, I misunderstood the time of the reservation and when we arrived at the restaurant the kitchen had already closed. Fortunately, the owners were really kind and reopened the kitchen just for me and my husband. The food was great and the owners were really nice to us, took... More

We came on a Friday night with a reservation for six and had a gorgeous table in the back private room. Marie came in and translated the menu for us in English and we each ordered a starter and main. My risotto with scallops was delicious, with fresh roasted vegetables, huge scallops and flavorful rice. It was actually much more... More

The cuisine by Marie is outstanding! She only uses products fresh from the market, blends in spices that give a unique taste! The cuisine is definitely Provencal and made with art and love. The restaurant is small, located in what seems to have been a 15th century street, vaulted ceilings add to the warm ambiance. Local good wines are available... More

One of the best meals eaten during a month in France. This very special restaurant is hidden away and easily walked past. The hospitality of the head waiter was wonderful and his suggestion of pink champagne was a fabulous drink to begin the meal. Our party all ate different dishes and the subtle fusion of flavours was truely mouthwatering. The... More
