Slightly eccentric but highly enjoyable

We dined in the 'courtyard' (really a small alleyway) leading to the restaurant. Both the restaurant and courtyard are decorated (if that's not too methodical a term for this) with random items and plants, like a delightful junk shop. We were served by a man who spoke little English - it turned... read more

Don't be fooled by the looks of this unassuming restaurant with it's cute outside decor - the food is truly amazing! Our starters included the rissotto with flamed scallops and fried vegetables which was heavenly - distinct fresh tastes brilliantly combined! My husband loved his crab stuffed ravioli. Our relatively picky daughter (12) was very pleased with her goat cheese... More

At core, it's interesting and authentic provencal food but too many flavours fighting with each other and lots of fruit which further complicates the dishes. Interesting quirky restaurant but somewhat overpriced, especially for wine.

Very very disappointing. Overpriced very ordinary food. Don't believe the reviews saying the menu changes according to the daily market. Crab ravioli overpowering and unpleasant. Cod fish with garlic sauce unbalanced and messy. Goat cheese lasagna was sloppy and lazy cooking. I have no doubt Maria works hard in the kitchen. This however is peasant food poorly prepared and at... More

We were so lucky to find the last but one table at this tiny restaurant in Avignon on a Sunday night at the end of June, because so few others are open on Sundays. Our host, Georges and the waiter were so charming and friendly and we met the chef, Marie, after our meal. She had been alone in the... More

I visited this very small restaurant during the arts festival and it was great. The cod I had was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The service is efficient but without being overly fussy. If you are anywhere near Avignon then this place is a must.

It is not easy to find a restaurant that opens on Sundays in France (especially in a small town like Avignon), not mentioning finding a good one. We were so glad that we found La Cuisine du Dimanche, which serves local cuisine (Provence) . Actually we wanted to book another restaurant that night but wasn't successful. My friend found this... One year ago, in May 2014, we visited this great place. I didn´t write a review then, but I am still so impressed with the place, that i want to write one now. We where going to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, quite late in the evening, without any plans or reservations. We were travelling along the French riviera and... More

One never knows what will you get in that or this place. Avignon, France, June 2015. The label "Tripadvisor 2015" at the entrance of the restaurant is a good mark, but... 15 minutes waiting for somebody, who could bring the menu (not more than 3 tables were occupied), the words - "look at the menu before the restaurant if you... Having spent a month on the Cote D'azure and visited many brilliant restaurants I really enjoyed this one when I finally arrived in Avignon, beautiful flavour combinations based on local ingredients and a great atmosphere, the best food I had in nearly 5 weeks and I have been to some great places.Put this on your itinerary but go early or...
