If only I could give it a 10!

Signed up for the Chef's Table - both the cooking class beforehand and the actual seating and it was worth every penny. 3 of us signed up for the cooking portion where Severine (a lovely French chef - and amazing singer) put us right to work on vegetables, pastries, the works. We spent 2 hours... read more

The Chef's Table in the communal table right next to the century-old wood-fired kitchen was an amazing experience. As it is limited seating per night (only 2 nights of the week when they have the Chef's Table), we were lucky to be able to book our seats. We started the night in the wine cellar, where sous chef Julian showed... More

We had the fixed price menu at €75/head and it was worth every penny. From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was absolutely first class. Not too much hovering, yet just the right amount of attentiveness. The food was astounding and cooked precisely as requested, unlike a lot of restaurants. We were allowed to take our... More

Avignon is a city of secret entrances and hidden courtyards. Beneath Le Palais des Papes, the cobbled streets lead to Place de La Mirande and a pair of nondescript wooden doors, behind which is a family- run hotel with credentials dating back to the 14th-century. It is quiet, calm haven from noise, activity and crowds, embodying old-style European grace. Like... More

It was a chilly January evening when we dined at La table at La Mirande Hotel but we could not have been more warmly greeted and shown to our table. The interior of the restaurant had a blazing fire and the décor, atmosphere and service were indescribably impressive. The menu included the choice of two entrees and five main meals... More

Severine, who runs the cooking classes in the ancient kitchen below this very beautiful hotel, took 11 of us on a whirlwind 'day in the life of a chef in Provence'!! We commenced with very welcome coffee and brioche upon arrival and then proceeded to shop at the local organic market. The rest of the day we chopped, pared, cleaned... More

My disappointment with La Mirande comes based on the price. At a tab of 300 Euros for two I expect more. Yes, it is a beautiful setting/room, the staff is very attentive (although they rush you through the meal), and the dishes are classic high end regional fare. However, during the course of our dinner I pulled a dirty napkin... More

I'd go back. It is not cheap but they do a good job, the dining room, food and staff were wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised.

We did the chef's table in September and loved it. We dined there for 4.5 hours, and enjoyed every minute. We started off in the wine cellar, moved to the kitchen and dining area, and then went upstairs for coffee and cakes (after dessert of course!). The Chef is phenomenal. She was making Duck and a few people didn't like... More

We dined outside in the garden and not at the main dining room. The weather was glorious and dishes were very good. The shrimp were too small so I would skip. All other dishes we had were wonderful.
