Was in Avignon for a few days and found the little pearl down the side street from the hussel and bussel of the main square. Small cute place with great service and typical french bistro feel without the kitch. Creative menu ticking all the boxes strongly recommend a visit if your in Avignon

My wife and I really enjoyed this restaurant in the center of Avignon in late June. It's a husband and wife team who served up an enjoyable meal that was the best meal we had in the Provence area. The service was good and the food was delicious.. We would recommend this place to anyone going to Avignon.

We arrived without a reservation, on a cloudy evening. No tables available outside, but although the indoor room was almost empty, the staff needed to allow for the possibility of bringing the outdoor diners inside in case of rain. After checking the skies, we were given a table inside. Simple French cooking, good service, a reasonable wine list, local produce....... More

What a great find!! This small restaurant has a very creative menu and, while limited, the wine list was perfect for the meals. Some of the best food in France!

While the hordes of tourists dine at 5:00pm on the Place de l'Horloge, wander the narrow streets behind the Hotel de Ville where some of the best restaurants are located. L'Essentiel and La Fourchette are there and probably very good, but you will need a reservation. We just walked into L'Isle Sonnante around 7:30 and received a warm welcome and... More

This small corner restaurant has a lovely interior, simple but tasteful - a perfect accompaniment to the delicious food. All the dishes we chose were beautifully flavoured, and presented. Just what we were in the mood for - very French and very enjoyable and priced appropriately. Menu not extensive, but each dish had clearly been thought about and prepared with... More

We first went to the restaurant in July 2012. We had to go back to taste the food. Came back in June 2013., sole reason to go back to Avignon. Excellent! French cousin at its finest.

Exhausted from traveling by air and then car to Avignon, we wanted a restaurant we could walk to - and lucky for us we were guided in this direction. There was one table left and the 3 of us were able to sit there; lovely service; we had salads, duck, lamb and a vegetarian entree - all were delicious. Service... More

I went here on the advice of my hotel when I asked for a restaurant with authentic Provencal food. The place is very small. Having no reservation, I was lucky that I got there early - they started turning people away at 7:45pm. The decor is charming and everything you expect from a small French restaurant. Between my server's phrasebook... More
