very good food in a small, cozy, family-run place

The restauraunt comes in two levels, both sit about 20 people. The whole place feels comfortable. We did prefer the ground floor with its lower ceiling, full of many small tables - an ambiance tres francaise :-) The other guests seemed to be rather international and the waitresses seemd to be used... read more

The outside is very inviting and quaint on a cute street near the Roman coliseum/arena. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were delighted by our fresh, delicious dishes which offered traditional flavors with uniquely beautiful presentation. The food was simple and traditionally Provençal yet interesting and exquisite. A treat to the... More

Le Criquet is a warm, atmospheric bistro on a side street, not far from the Arena. The set menu of the mid-day formule de midi is an excellent way to have a great meal for not much money. We liked it so much that we returned for dinner the next night. We felt very well tended, and enjoyed the traditional... More

We walked in without a reservation and were very lucky to 2 of got the last seat in the house. Delicious Provencal food with the friendliest wait staff around. Can't believe how many times they run up and down the stairs. Very busy place but we could shave a conversation. I have to say I had the best mushroom soup... More

The family that own and run this restaurant try very hard to make the whole experience a great one. You will usually need reservations. Excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. We really enjoyed it.

Very small, intimate restaurant. Reservations are necessary for lunch as well as dinner. Delicious food beautifully prepared, excellent service, great ambience, reasonable price.

Arles is such a fantastic city and we wanted to try good local food. We reserved at le Criquet and we were not disappointed. We were seated inside, the place is so homey and friendly. It is a family run restaurant and so daughter and mother were around. I went for the fish soup with the garlicky/saffron/mayo - the best.... More

Our group had to choose the 3 courses on the bus and I was excited! Fish Carpaccio, RACK of lamb and desert. Wow... but I guess it was just "lost in translation!" The carpaccio was "flooded" with olive oil, not to my liking. The rack of lamb turned out to be lamb cutlets - overcooked. ( Two of us had... More

My wife and I enjoyed this little family-owned restaurant in the old city, very near the amphitheater. Great service and good food. We highly recommend reserving a table for dinner if you are in Arles.

We were lucky enough to book the last available table in this restaurant brilliantly located a few meters from the Amphitheater. It had been suggested to us by another fully booked restaurant so we thought it would probably be good!! Food was delicious. Classic French Mediterranean cuisine with a personal twist from the chef. Kids (6&8) shared a glorious looking... More
