From McDo to Oustau De Beaumaniere

My title: because all restaurants fit in the same category here at TripAdvisor; you very well could find McDonald's listed as Arles' #1 restaurant or a highly rated gastronomique place downgraded because they refuse to serve Cokes. I don't blame TripAdvisor; methodologies are difficult. As of this writing, TripAdvisor lists 210 restaurants in Arles. This includes McDo ! Oddly too,... More

We were in Arles for a week and in our experience the standard of restaurants within the same price bracket varied considerably. This was the standout, with a winning combination of quality food, charming service and a decent atmosphere. Indeed, when unsuccessfully attempting to book another highly regarded restaurant, the proprietor went out of his way to recommend Le Criquet,... More

Le Criquet definitely deserves its number rating. The ambiance and friendly staff made for a delightful evening for our party of four. It was our best dining experience in Arles. The grilled sea bass was outstanding.

A very nice place where you can eat both fish and meat. There are specialties like "Aioli" (fresh vegetables and fish with French garlic sauce apart and excellent extra-virgin olive oil) or stewed bull, that we chose and enjoyed. Desserts are yummy. We ordered mascarpone cream with raspberry: delightful! You can choose a menu with a starter and a main... More

Went here on the basis of TA reviews and were lucky enough to wander past at lunch and reserve a table for the evening. Tuna and swordfish carpaccio and escabeche to start. Both recommended. Gambas persillade to be avoided as a main - tries to do too much on the plate. Cod main excellent. For dessert we had the creme... More

We have visited this restaurant after reading reviews on TA on a first night of our trip in South of France. The place is run by a family. Lovely outside space. Menu is small but the food is delicious! We had swordfish and tuna carpaccio and octopus salad, both were delicious and fresh perfect for a hot summer evening. For... More

We rarely return to a restaurant twice when visiting France because there are so many options but this restaurant deserved a second meal....both were outstanding, our welcome was very warm. Very provencal in decor....hubby loved his bull stew and second time, the sea bream which he raved about while I devoured the lamb chops and was thrilled to devour the... More

We had a fabulous meal here at Saturday lunch during peak season so the restaurant was packed. Luckily we'd booked a table but as there were 4 adults and a baby we had to sit inside. It seems the terrace was only set out for couples dining. The service was slightly slow but we enjoyed the leisurely pace and had... More

Our dinner here blew my mind. The quality, preparation, presentation, service and ambiance all win accolades. Bravo! With menu / 3 courses including exquisite fresh seafood and regional specialties, for 29Euros, this place is an amazing deal. They are even thoughtful to bring half of the wine At a time so that it stays cool for serving when a full... More
