Excellent address in Arles

The Restaurant has a tiny downstairs with an open kitchen, and a slightly larger room on the second floor. Ambiance is very rustic, stone walls and big corner fireplace (used as a service stand). The "Gardiane de Taureau", a great local dish in this part of the country, was presented in a very... read more

Worst fish soup ever, tasteless bull steak, do not recommend. Not good value for money, tiny restaurant and a rather crammed feeling. The waitress started moving tables around for the next day before diners had finished eating.

We had dinner here and wished we hadn't. The food was terrible to put it mildly. We had the set dinner menu, ice cold fois gras pate to start, the fish tagine was indedible it was so sweet...tasted awful. They only have one loo and it was blocked, totally disgusting.

We dined in the small front room beside the open kitchen and luckily arrived early without a reservation, since the place filled up quickly. Welcoming service, family run, nobody giving a second glance as a couple of patrons brought their dogs in with them. We had baked oysters, bull steak, and gambas, all beautifully presented and delicious. A most pleasant... More

This is a beautiful, small restaurant with great and attentive service and wonderful wine and food options, including the classic "gardenier" (beef bourguignon) which is highly recommended. The creme brulee is amazing.

This is a small restaurant. Reservations highly recommended. If you get a table downstairs, you can watch the work in the kitchen, which I think is a good thing. We had the "menu", starting with foie gras followed by the buffalo and the cheese for dessert. We liked it, although not everything was perfect (the meat a little too much... More

We stayed in Arles for 6 days and ate at several of the best recommended restaurants: Le Criquet, L'Autruche, Le Plaza, etc. Without doubt La Gueule du Loup was the best - even though pronouncing it in French is a nightmare! Small, intimate, with excellent, discrete service. A limited menu, as befits a small establishment but everything cooked to perfection.... More

After spending a three week stay in Provence, we finally got a chance to have dinner at La Gueule du Loup. It was worth waiting for....excellent. The plat's were very good,we both had the porc with honey and celeriac mousse, however the entree.....cappuccino mussels with provincial frogs legs and a whipped cream was fantastic.....the dessert of chocolate mousse and vanilla...
