Take the picture and leave.

I find it terribly sad how they let the place decay having a true city jewel. The service was bad, the food was nothing out of the ordinary. Place du Forum is a busy place. It is also a tourist magnet. The same can I say about Le Cafe La Nuit, aka the Van Gogh Café. Non of the places are known for their great customer service nor excellent food. But still, you sorta have to go there, right? The ice cream was good, even though it arrved... More

Had to stop off here for a late night coffee after dinner in Arles. Being a Vincent Van-Gogh fan it was a must! Very reasonably priced coffee - menu looked nice - might eat here next time!

Avoid it! After stopping in upon arrival in Arles (I had been there 19 years ago), we were shocked - dirty tables, unfriendly service, bad prices and bad product. The owner of the Hotel Du Forum, where we stayed then warned us: "Definitely avoid the yellow restaurant!" What a shame - it's a historic landmark in a great location on... More

Just looking at the touristy scene in the Place du Forum you gotta know none of the cafes are going to offer a gourmet experience. Especially on a hot Saturday when the Arles market attracts a huge crowd. So if you're going to eat in that square, you might as well choose the place with a niche in art history... More

We ordered the recommended dish of the day which was the paella. It was dreadful. We complained the first time as the chicken was badly undercooked, the chicken was replaced with some slightly better cooked pieces, but those were still poorly cooked. The rice, rather than being al Dante, was crunchy and was strangely spiced and by then we couldn't... More

I didn't read the reviews until after going there. That's probably how this restaurant keeps going. Its a famous landmark in Arles, and well positioned to ensnare the unwary. Food was actually OK and modestly priced but the service was terrible. I watched as couple after couple sat down and were ignored by the waiter, who was smoking his cigarette... More

The reason you come to places like this is to be part of history. I read reviews of other people. Yes they are right but I was looking for something else and I found it. Manager of place was Brazilian guy from São Paulo and he was very nice and pleasant . He pushed people to to something but sometimes... More

Against the reviews we still went. The service was dreadful , food poor and overpriced. Such a shame that such a place trades on the back of Van Gogh but cannot match his expertise!

we were told there was no drink menu so we ordered two absinths and one red wine. The waiter brought us back two clear alcoholic beverages of unknown origin in small snifter glasses without the standard preparation for absinth (no melted sugar cube, no ice) and a small glass of red wine. When ready to leave, he charged us 11.50... More
