This restaurant is an insult to the French people. Every time their 'chef' opens a tin to deposit some sweetcorn droppings on the alleged salad Niçoise, Napoleon turns in his grave. Yes, agree with every negative review of this place.....for such an iconic tourist spot the owners have really done this a complete injustice....too bad and very sad.... the cashier , or owner ( not sure) was having her hair done while at the til. .......do not waste you money......wonderful restaurants on surrounding small streets.

I wish I'd read my own trip advisor review before we fell victim to this underwhelming tourist trap! Grotty looking tablecloths and messed up orders and the payela looked like it was a scientific experiment for growing new bacteria! Or maybe the prawns and chicken were trying to come back to life in the sun- yet the waiter we had... More

Yes, this is the subject of Vincent's famous painting, but most of the negative TA reviews are correct. Van Gogh hype, cash only, minimal wine list, blah, blah, blah. BUT, if it is one of the days when they are preparing paella, grab a table before they are all gone. At 16E, the plate of seasoned seafood, chicken, vegetables and... More

The place is really filthy. Floor, sofas and walls are really dirty, the cupboard was falling into pieces. The bread knife was a blade with electrician tape to keep it together. One poor boy (sweater and jeans, should we call him a waiter?) was looking after customers, serving, taking the orders, while two other people were sitting at the bar... More

It's from Van Gogh's famous painting. Nice atmosphere and view around the square. Seems like they had 2-3 people sitting people and only 1 actually serving. My salad was ok, house wine very good. Regretted not sitting down down the street a bit, but it was fine. Would do again for a drink only.

We failed to read Trip Advisor are are literally sick to our stomachs as we advise you not to eat here. Insult to injury they got the prices wrong and don't take credit cards. Don't do it!

The coffees were overpriced. We asked if we can order warm food which was declined however people that arrived after us were given warm food. It was the absolute low point of our France trip.

Is this café/restaurant trying to win the prize for the worst place in Provence? If so, it’s won the prize. Made our choice to eat there because a nice hostess was out front almost directing passer bys to take a table. We fell into the trap and decided to take lunch there (difficult to say no to a pretty face!).... More

All the TA recommended restaurants we wanted to visit weren't open when 3 of us went to Arles on a sunny Thursday in November for lunch. The terrace outside Le cafe La Nuit is a bit shabby chic with very heavy chairs and everything has a run down feel, but we ordered starters and main courses from the fixed 14.50... More
