We went there because it is the Cafe Van Gogh used to frequently visit and it is featured in several of his paintings .. so yes it is a must see .. maybe take a picture as well .. but their are many other establishments that you will enjoy much more if it is coffee or a meal you are... More

Wish I had read Trip Advisor before eating here. Just awful.....worst meal in France in years. Serving up dry fish, steak that tasted like old bull, and staff conveniently not speaking English when you try to complain. So bad that it will be forever memorable!!

This was by far the worst restaurant service we have had in France. The food was ok, once it eventually arrived after about 45 minutes- as it was just 2 salads, one would think it would be quicker. The staff ignored us and didn't seem at all bothered when we complained, both in French and in English

Cool to be drinking where Van Gogh painted but must say that the tables were dirty and not cleaned well by the staff and the glasses did not look all that clean. But to go in for a drink to get a picture taken and say you have been there, probably worth it. But, I wouldn't order any food.

I was a bit pessimistic. It clears trades off its Van Gogh connection, having been featured in one of his paintings. But the food was pretty good at a fair price. If you're looking for it, it's on the side of Place du Forum which is one square north from the larger Place de la Republique - look for the... More

We were hungry, and it was not easy to find a restaurant in Arles. We had checked TripAdvisor in advance, but some of the places we had found were closed, others were full, and some were starting to close their kitchens. The Place du Forum was full of people on the bars and restaurants, and this place really looked like... More

The waiter cheated us, the barman was smoking inside, they didn't want to give us a bill, brought a warm beer. I asked for a perrier with mint, I never saw the perrier bottle as it should be in France. AVOID IT, even if you like Van Gogh, AVOID THIS PLACE please. Arles is nice, the people are nice, but... The iced coffee tasted weird. The waiters were impolite and even shortchanged us. Lots of flies in the terrace. Nothing but its fame. Terrible experience in Arles!

I do not fully agree with other reviewers. The food - paella - while not hot, only warm, was not too bad and the prices were not too bad by French standards. However the waiters were obnoxious, smoked much of the time and, as others have remarked, did try to shortchange us, assuming that I either would not notice or would... More
