We ate here mid June 2014. It was a lovely refuge from a monsoon-like deluge that struck Aix that evening. The restaurant is in a stone voulted 'cave' - so don't expect any street views or sunny courtyard - but do come here for the food and service! Service was attentive without being fussy - advice on the menu and... More

We ate here first night of 3 nights... And tried to go back... It was booked. Understand why. Incredible creative food in a great atmosphere! Chef was creative serving up the best of seasonal ingredients ... This restaurant should be number #1...

There's so many crappy restaurants in Aix, or would-be fancy chef, that the Formal is a breeze of fresh air. Let's put it simply: if you're visiting Aix at peak season, it's probably the only place where it's impossible to go wrong. The staff is professional, the restaurant -- although a bit hidden, and tucked under street level -- is... More

A really nice restaurant in Aix. The 7 course tasting menu was delicious and the dessert was exquisite, and the price was more than fair at 48 euros not including wine. I especially liked the chef's personal touch during our meal and at the end when he greeted us as we left.

Cave setting downstairs, superb food and lovely wine makes this a great dinner location. Separate cave area for us just out of sight of the rest of the diners was perfect for our young kids to relax and enjoy a great restaurant. Perfect for a rainy day or evening meal for us without kids to.

We waited over 30 minutes but no one even came to take our drink orders. Manager was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Don't go!!!!!

We were given a nice table and the food and wine were excellent. Very reasonable for what we had. Good menu and wines and good service too. A very enjoyable evening. We came from Cannes and feel restaurants in Aix better

Too many good options in Aix to waste your time and money here. Incredibly rude service to foreigners. Avoid at all costs.

We went on 21 March. We were delighted with both food and service. Given that it's fine dining, it was actually good value, too - €141 for two three-course meals and a bottle of wine. I found the food delicious with many satisfying and intriguing details. My partner is a vegetarian who will pickily eat some fish, and they accommodated... More

how to mix a very good cook with a very bad service. Come and see by yourself. A talent is litterally killed by an approach that has no consideration to customer.
