Simply great

My wife has now had the pleasure of eating at Mitch for the fourth time, however, it was my first experience. Mitch is a great restaurant that is worth the visit. The owner himself waited on us and gave a wonderful and reasonably priced red wine recommendation. We each got the pre-fixed menu. I would recommend the salmon tart tart as an appetizer and the sea bass for the main course. Both were incredible. Overall, the food and experience was lovely... More

Solidly done but no particular subtlety or innovation, standard good fare (hunks of meat), and unfortunately nothing was quite hot. Excellent service, friendly folk, but sadly, as we enjoyed our meal, we won't be going back.

It is cold and dreary in beautiful Aix. It was nice to discover that Mitch has a warm cave like basement. I have eaten here before (in nicer weather) and returned for dinner tonight. Our meal was excellent. Very creative use of fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Often we avoid fixed prix meals because it is more food than we... More

The ingredients shined, with a taste that was clean and fresh. The delicate preparation highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients - I was amazed by even a simple potato (the Mona Lisa, yum!). Mitch was a gracious host, patiently providing assistance with wine selections. I enjoyed a wonderful local wine. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Very enjoyable for... More

This was absolutely one of my favorite meals of our trip. I had booked another restaurant in Aix-en-Provence and switched to Mitch on the advice of a local. What a treat! Every dish was perfect, and my non-meat-eating sister was also able to find plenty to her liking. I am a foie gras lover, and the entrée (appetizer to Americans)... More

My fros gras entré was excellent, my husband's scallops were also great. We both had the same plat a sea bass with a jumbo shrimp; it was delicious. The deserts were decadent. So a gourmet evening was enjoyed.

Personally I think most of the Restaurants we ate in around Aix were pretty mediocre. Mitch was a welcome exception, probably because Mitch himself is there and he is gracious, intelligent and a terrific host. Location is central old Aix and great for people watching. Wines recommended by Mitch were super and everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommended! The... More

We went to Mitch for a dinner on our hotel's advice. The quality of food is surely above the average and well presented, the service quite good as well. But this place is really expensive. Me and my wife shared a starter then we had two main courses (pork for me and cod for her). We finished sharing a dessert.... More

Had an amazing meal at Mitch. The foie gras was the best we have ever had with slices of embedded lamb. The jumbo shrimp was the size of a lobster claw and the chocolate pear was devine. The presentation was as beautiful as the taste of each of our dishes. They recommended a wonderful wine to accompany our meal and... More
