Very friendly, great wine and food

Our concierge recommended this small restaurant in Aix en Provence. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were soon seated with a glass of wine in our hand. You can choose from the small fixed price menu or order a la carte. Both reasonably priced. We felt like some fillet steak so paid... read more

We didn't have a reservation, but they graciously seated us when we arrived early in the evening. The food arrived beautifully plated and was delicious. The staff were attentive and service was done well. It was one of the most expensive meals we had in France, but it was a memorable experience. Our daughter is a wonderful cook who appreciates... We visited for dinner after reserving a table from our hotel. The place is small and in the old city which makes it charming. Mitch was very nice and explained the dishes and wine list. My octopus and main course were very good but my wifes fish was rather funky looking but tasty at least to me. The presntation of... More

Make sure you let Mitch help pick the wine for your amazing meal - we had a local red wine that was paired perfectly with our dinner. It's a small quiet restaurant with fantastic food! Right in the main center of the city, this place is easy to get to without being loud or crowded inside. Lots of great root... More

Had read all the enthustiastic reviews of this restaurant, so the expectations were high. We started with an appetizer of chicken and artichoke, which was very elegantly served. The ingredients were perfectly treated, but the look was more impressive than the taste. It tasted a little tame. My companion had chosen tuna, which tasted exellent. But it was very much... More

My friend and I ate there last evening. It's in the historic district, very attractive and small. You will need a reservation preferably 2 days ahead. The entire meal was delicious: the fois gras was excellent as a starter and can be shared; one of us had beef and the other had tuna. Both were cooked perfectly with accompanying vegetables.... We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and were very glad we took their advice. The food is of a very high quality and exquisitely presented. Best described as "modern French" I suppose. The octopus first course was extraordinary. Service was informal but attentive, friendly and helpful. All in all, very, very enjoyable.

On the last evening after 18 days traveling through France, we had the best meal of our trip at Mitch. Short of Michelin-starred spots, the quality and service can't be beat. As other reviewers have note, the restaurant's quite small. The owner/host/waiter, Mitch, is a delight as he describes the dishes. Don't miss the foie gras "Opera" or the pressa... More

This was the last night of a 3 week trip to Greece, Italy and France and this was definitely the best restaurant of the trip. Interesting menu, beautifully presented and very tasty. So tasty that we had one of the appetisers twice! The owner is great and knows his wines. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Aix-en-Provence
