Inventive cuisine and attentive service

Had lunch here with friends who raved about their pigeon dish. Wines by the galss, both red and white were fine. My fish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented but I would have liked more vegetables, not just the artfully arranged peas on the plate. Service was attentive and friendly.

Nice ambiance, OK service. Food is good, but really... when you're paying 30 euros for an entree, you expect to actually have more than 50g of fish in your plate... Its not even a michelin restaurant to claim for such high prices and so little food... We were 4, ordered 4 glasses of red wine as apero, then asked to... More

We were coming from Nice to L'Isle sur la Sorgue,& we stopped here for lunch. It is not a large restaurant, & apart from the 4 in our party,I think perhaps only 2 or 3 more tables were taken. The food while good,& certainly acceptable, was hardly outstanding, but at the same time we had nothing to complain about either. We did... More

We read the reviews in Tripadvisor and decide to try this restaurant. We were a party of six (with two seniors and two kids). The waiter was very friendly (especially accommodating to my daughter who was feeling under the weather) and spoke English. We tried 4 appetisers, 5 mains, 3 desserts and wine. The price was very reasonable. It was... More

Says it all - small bistro with casual, cozy atmosphere. There are 4 appetizers and 4 mains (2 fish, 2 meat) to choose from, as well as 4 desserts including cheese. They claim to do everything in-house except the bread. The food was good, in addition you get an amuse-bouche and a sweetie. Elaborate wine list. Be prepared to spend... More

We had a late lunch in a sparsely populated restaurant, so we had plenty of attention from a helpful waiter. He led us to a good bottle of local red wine and some interesting food. We thought everything was quite good and considering the quality of the food and the fancy preparation, we thought it was a good value also.

What a wonderful restaurant! Tucked in a small quiet plaza in town, our dinner at Vintrepide was one of the highlights of our stay in Aix-en-Provence. Each dish served was delicious. Our plates all went back to the kitchen empty (I may or may have not licked my plate clean). Run by two young guys, in addition to the always... More

Vintrepide was recommended to us by a number of locals in Aix, many associated with the culinary experience. It was very, very good. The setting isn't as elegant as some other local restaurants, but the food was some of the best on our entire trip. I had a rabbit dish that was delightful. The apps were creative and tasty and... The wife and I had just arrived in Aix, and were walking to our accommodation. It was just after the normal déjeuner hour, and when it started to rain, we ducked into this fantastic place for a late lunch (with our luggage and everything in tow). What a treat! The waiter was a great guy, and made us feel very... More

Completely overrated. We went there for a dinner since the restaurant is very well rated in trip advisor. Amuse bouche was embarrassing - tomato "gazpacho" was a tomato juice worse than what you would get on a flight. Dishes were with no herbs or special condiments inside. The waiter has announced that the ingredients are "market fresh". Well.... knowing the... More
