A quiet spot in the historic district

This restaurant is in a fairly quiet spot in the historic district, away from noisy streets. Hue Cocotte has a good menu at 26 € featuring as a main course their specialty, cod cooked with savory vegetables in a covered pot known as a cocotte. (Several other delicious-sounding options are... read more

We were a group of 13 (adults and kids). I made the reservation in advance and we arrived to a large outside table. Service was fantastic. Lots of diffferent choices for the mains - all were delicious. Starters and dessert were great as well. An unique dining experience.

The dishes are between good and okay, and you pay more for the presentation in a small "cocotte" and the way it's cooked rather than for a real awesome cuisine. Not a disappointment though, was still overally good.

My wife and I arrived in Aix-en-Provence on a Monday, when most of the restaurants are closed, so it was about talking a stroll to find which ones where open, as we walked passed Hue Cocotte, we stopped to look at the menu, which sounded very appetising. considering it was around 9.00pm, We were given a table for 2 just... Both the food and the service were very good. I had the lamb and my wife had the squid. Both dishes were very good. The price was spot on which makes this restaurant an excellent value for folks on holiday. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in Aix again.

The restaurant was lousy, the lamb gristly, the fish slimy. Worse still we were overcharged on the wine and the Trip Advisor reservation service discount was not adjusted in the tab. My advice... The Michelin guide. Two nights in a row I got scammed. I have another reservation thru their new reservation service. Why would I want to be clobbered... More

This is a good place to eat. Period. Sitting outside one beautiful night eating tasty food and good wine suits us every time. The cocottes are well prepared and delicious. Desserts are delicious as well. You won't break the bank to have a really good meal.

Fantastic food and excellent service make this little tucked away restaurant tops in any language. Cocotte refers to a small pot in which the food is simmered. My beef was surrounded by potatoes, carrots, zucchini in a light tomato sauce that was to die for. The starter of minced strawberries, tomatoes and fresh basil dressed with balsamic vinegar was amazing.... More

We were 18 friends in Aix for a birthday (40yo). They got us a long table on the terrace. The service was very good, the owner speaks very good English and is very friendly. The food was great, the price was fair. We really all enjoyed Hue Cocotte in all its aspects. Definitely a place to go!

Having been disappointed on our first night in Aix (overpriced with poor service!) we were delighted to go to Hue Cocotte for our last night. The food and service were excellent - all meals are scribbled on a chalk board which the waitress helpfully went through with us, carefully explaining each dish (allowing us to practice our French as well!)...
