Authentic & delicious

Food was amazing, the staff was exceptionally fun and took pity on our poor french. The recipes were all unique and flavors were both soft and rich. We had a few fish dishes and a few deserts with wine the waiter suggested. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling through Aix.

The food is great. Everything is served in a small cocotte, which is essentially a mini version of a Le Creuset pot. The owner speaks very good english and he explains each of the menu items in detail. Good wine suggestions as well. Overall, a fairly unique food experience perfectly matched for french cooking style.

Staying at the Hotel de France while on business for only a couple of days, Hue Cocotte was suggested to us for dinner one evening. I didn't want to waste one of my dining opportunities on a bust, so I looked at the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided it was worth a try. It was a very good decision. Our... More

I stayed only one night in Aix en Provence, so the choice of the restaurant was very hard. In the end we decided to tray this restaurant,. Let's say you dine in the historic outdoor, in the narrò streets of Aix en Provence makes the food more palatable already; here, however, the ingenuity of the concepì, the exuberance of the... More

Very good foie gras poelee (though very small piece); good lamb; tuna was overcooked. "Average" sound less attractive, was good food overall, just nothing special

Bravo! Mid-October Terrace full and the owner working alone in a breathtaking speed and not loosing his french charme. Serving tasty cocotte dishes. We had a menu ( including a starter, a main dish, a dessert) for 30,-€. Ouef cocotte was still soft as it should be, the lamb stew incredeably tender and tartelett aux figs yummy. We had a... More

We visited here twice during our stay in Aix, and loved everything we were served. Most dishes are served in small casserole style dishes cooked slowly, leaving everything (and in particular the lamb) succulent and bursting with flavours. Special mention has to be given also to the desserts, and my partner assured me that he mi-cuit au chocolat was outstanding,... More

The entree of duck and sweet potatoes was amazing! The cocotte of white fish was full of flavors of zucchini, peppers, carrots and something with a slight sense of sweetness. Very well- balanced and just delicious. The owner suggested a wine from Tours and then served us a 50 cl portion because we didn't want a full bottle. He was... More

We had dinner there last night and really enjoyed the food. Appetizers (duck with mashed sweet potato and cheese in filo) were superb. For main course I had the squid and my wife had monkfish. Both were wonderful: fresh, great flavor and nice portion size. The waiter explained the menu in detail and was very accommodating.

Very nice restaurant - very helpful personnel and affordable prices compared to how expensive is dinning out in France. The lamp with fruits in the cocotte was really delicious. and fish with mussels was very good. Egg with mozzarella and tomato in the cocotte was also great! these plates + 2 glasses of wine cost 50 euros.
