A very good, small French restaurant

My wife and I have eaten in this restaurant a number of times over the past few years and it is always very good, but recently we found some other restaurants we prefer a bit better. I would really like to give it a 3.7 rating. This is not an expensive restaurant and the portions are accordingly a... read more

After 2 unremarkable dinners in Aix, we were able to have a lovely meal at this gem! Small Le Comte d'Aix provided a delightfully traditional French dinner for our party of three. We enjoyed warm squid salad, entrees of duck, lamb and sea bass on the menu for 18.5 Euro each which included choice of dessert (we chose a pleasing... More

What a superb meal, starting with the squid, with a second of duck/lamb and finishing off with the mousse. And it's a two man show, the chef and the person serving....with a smile and so helpful. Well done!! It shows they love what their work.

There are hundreds of places to eat in Aix so it's not easy to choose - especially as many of them are touristy and expensive. But hunt around and you can discovers places like Le Comte. Only a few hundred yards off the beaten track is this little gem. A three course set menu at only 18 euros was perfect.... More

At the end of a recent Provençal sejour, I enjoyed a lunch at Le Comte d'Aix that proved to be one of the most delightful dining experiences of my trip. From the warm and gracious service of Nicolas to the delicious meal and pleasant space, the entire experience was a delight. Especially recommended for women traveling alone, who'll feel quite... This restaurant was a great find in Aix en Provence. We enjoyed our meal so much the first night we returned the next night. The price point for a complete meal was excellent and the food was very traditional regional french cooking. This is definitely worth searching for the location and make sure to go early as they will only... More

If you want an overpriced tourist trap restaurant with mediocre food and outside seating, go elsewhere. If you're looking for delicious food, super charming, great service, and unbeatable prices, this restaurant is for you! It doesn't open (for dinner) until 7:30 so go then and you'll have no problem finding a seat because as I said, it's a local place,... More

I generally don't go back to a restaurant if i'm staying somewhere unless the food is brilliant and I must say this place's food is absolutely fantastic, and for its value it's just a no-brainer. If you like well-cooked, authentic French cuisine you cannot go wrong here. At €18.50 you get 3 courses of pure delight served to you in... More

We followed a recommendation in a Dorling Kindersley guide book and hunted down this restaurant door our final meal in France. It was well worth the walk as the meal was fantastic. The food was really well cooked. It's simple, traditional food, and really tasty. The three course meal deal was good value. The service was efficient and friendly, well... More

I first discovered Le Comté d'Aix in 2006, on my first trip to the city. The food was really good, and priced very reasonably--but there was no one in the restaurant!! When I asked the owner why, he said it was because they don't have a street-terrace like some other nearby places, and during the summer everyone wants to sit... More
