Excellent lunch here

My wife and I ate lunch, actually our main meal of the day, here yesterday. There were two specials on the lunch menu, my wife had the chicken and I had the fish. Both meals were excellent, but my wife found the sauce on the chicken too salty and there was too much sauce in her opinion. We started... read more

We have lived in France for 3.5 years, this was one of the three best meals I've had in France. Our dinner companion also commented that it was the best meal he had in Aix after visiting in Aix four times. Atmosphere (quiet jazz), location, seating, portions were just right. I had Saint Jacques and Dos de Cabillaud. Others in... More

The rating on trip advisor was good. Simple solutions entrees/plat, plat/dessert, enter/plat/dessert. Between 30 and 40€ and for that price an excellent meal in the "gastrinomique" categorie. Service was simple snd diligent. Best of all ? The price for wine was really kept low. in fact the lowest wine coefficient I got to see. I strongly recommend here as well... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our concierge...and several others! We had a group of six and sat outdoors. Reservations highly recommended. The service was very attentive, everyone spoke English, the food was fabulous and were were able to people watch, sitting outdoors. The ravioli appetizer was TO DIE FOR!! The foie gras was delicious, the duck was good,... More

I booked this restaurant based on other great Tripadvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is a little tricky to find, so we did a 'dry run' earlier in the day to see where it was, rather than be roaming around aimlessly later. We had a table outside, which was great, because it was a beautiful, balmy, Mediterranean evening... More

We enjoyed our dinner very much. No reservation, came from walking around the old city. The waitress was very attentive with good English. Courses were beautifully presented and served, and very delicious. To be honest everything on the menu looked promising. The atmosphere was very nice, quiet but no museum, with a mix of tourists and locals. The meal was... More

Their menu is posted and gives you choices as to the number of courses you want. The dishes are creative and tasty. I enjoyed a started of open ravioli of duck & apricot with foie gras & mushroom sauce. Then sea bass with crab & pea risotto & shellfish bisque. My husband had filet of beef with fried potato, foie... More

Given the high prices at this restaurant, I can't see what all the excitement is about. The foie gras "club sandwich" was good but not an out of body experience (and I love foie gras). The steak was fine, but nothing really special given the price. I was dining solo and felt the service was rather slow and inattentive. (It... More

Small restaurant, limited menu, outstanding food. Irish owner prepares gastronomical delights. Appetizer foie gras "club sandwich" is a one-in-a-million treat. Eat outside or in.

On a recommendation, we tried this restaurant. The food overall was very good, although a little on the expensive side. The starters we had were scallops, gazpacho, and seared tuna. Not sure about the gazpacho, but the others were good. For mains, we had the duck, the hake fish, and the sea bass. Fish again was good, but the duck... More
