Fantastic time and our second visit

We first eat here in June 2013 whilst staying in a house nearby. This time, we were staying in Aix on our way down to the Cote D'Azur and we had to return here for another meal. We were traveling through Aix-en-Provence and wanted some lunch but it was getting late. I saw the reviews for this place and even though it was late, they stayed open and made us a wonderful meal. Everything from the salad to dessert was great. The owner, who was also our waiter, worked so hard to make the meal memorable. We... More

We read about this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We were a bit put off by the exterior but went there even though the adjacent restaurant was much busier. We were glad we did. This was the best mackerel I have ever tasted (and that is after more years than I will admit) The hot beef marrow in the bone was... More

Our B&B proprietor had this at the top of his list of restaurant recommendations, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was terrific, and the service was gracious and efficient. My entree was octopus and my husband's was sea bass; both were excellent. Our waiter, we later learned, was one of the two owners; the other is the chef. We... More

My wife and I ate dinner here on 5th June. The waiter worked extremely hard serving all the tables. Rue Constantin is a quiet street but only two cars came up the street during the whole evening as we sat outside for dinner. The waiter was absolutely charming as well as being very efficient. I had a very tasty aubergine... More

The service is great, and so is the food. First went for the millefeuille and then for the poulpes (octopus). One of the better cuisines in Aix-en-Provence.

We found this place on Trip Advisor and thought it looked nice. We called to make a reservation, and the person who answered spoke English - so don't hesitate to give them a call to book a table. The menu was really great with something for most everyone. Reasonably priced, we thought, for the quality of the meal. Great selection... More

L'Alcove has a refreshing and authentic menu, we enjoyed the Loup de Mer and the excellent Rose wine. We will definitely return.

If you're looking for low-key gourmet without the crowd, L'Alcove is just the spot. The two guys who run it aim to be first-rate hosts. Delicieux!

We consult TripAdviser for restaurants whenever we travel. So we chose L'Alcove accordingly. We arrived at 7 pm knowing well that the opening hour for dinner is 7.30 pm. We were told to either enter and munch bread, which was nice or come back later, so we decided to take a stroll. It is a small place only 26 seats... More
