Amazing Restaurant with a Michelin Star quality Chef!

If you're in Aix en Provence and you want to experience an amazing meal, I highly recommend this place. The Chef, Ludovic Aillaud is working very hard to receive his first Michelin Star in France. I have no doubt that he will succeed. He was raised in the village where we stay with friends. We've... read more

This is a wonderful dining experience. Small outdoor area in a very busy plaza with many restaurants to suit any cuisine or budget -- also great for people watching. Service is excellent. I had exquisite veal and my husband had a baby goat trio that was inventive and delicious. They use traditional ingredients in unique ways. I had a grilled... More

We were impressed by the creativity and imagination of the chef! We opted for the "menu degustation" that includes apetizers, a first course, a fish, a meat, and desert. The server enquires about any allergies or food intolerance, and then the chef decides what you eat. We were there early in the spring, and were offered the most delicate vegetables,... More

This was the third restaurant recommended by our Provence tour guide. I thought the first two were superb but our total experience in this intimate restaurant was and will be unforgettable. We were met by the chef/owner and embarked on a truly exemplary dining experience. The fish and duck entrees were prepared like a picture and delicious. Asparagus is in... More

My husband and I came here on a recommendation from our host (for a cooking class) earlier in the day. We walked by the restaurant and loved the quaint ambience and decided to try later that evening. We were so happy we did! We were met with such welcoming personalities from both the hostess and chef (we only speak minimal... More

Very intimate restaurant, just as I would have imagined for a great French Provencial meal. The food was creative and excellent. The service was perfect and the wait staff helpful with a non French speaking patron. I would put this restaurant on the top of anyone's list when visiting Aix in Provence.

The Place des Cardeurs seems full of tourist traps, this was, however, a different experience. Was recommended by the hotel. Service incredibly attentive and lovely, decent food. All fresh ingredients: they only have a limited menu... Gets very quickly booked up, but would recommend to give it a try...

A very small restaurant with personal service, L'Épicurien is a nice place to eat when in Aix. The lunch menu is limited to a few choices (three entrées, three main dishes and some desserts) because it is supposed to be changed often - there is no printed menu, the waiter brings you a board with the handwritten choices on it.... Read on TA and recommended by guide Lianne from Tylene tourisme. Booked in morning when unpacking dialing produce. Just as well because tables set up outside were full. Food was great, not large portions for young men who like to eat. Mitch and le 44 are better value. We had lamb, fish, and son calamari entree. All nouvelle cuisine. Dessert... More
