I am from Aix-en-Provence but have been living abroad since 2005. Since Naruto opened, I make sure that I visit once during my stay in town. I have never been disappointed. The staff is so lovely! You get the traditional "irashaimase" greeting as you come in, and everybody has a smile on their face. Whether you fancy yakitori, sushi, or... More

Wonderfull japanese restaurant, with a french swing to it. We had the set menu, and they were helpfull with finding dishes for our small children. It is situated in a small quiet street. The man we sat next to was an axoise Who ate there every day. For me that is

We read reviews of all the Japanese restaurants in Aix and decided this one sounded the best. We were not disappointed. They have a few outside tables and the inside was pleasantly air-conditioned, not too cold. The amuse bouche, very funny but they are trying to please French who like free tasters is a bowl of delicious edamame beans. For... More

I stayed in Aix with my wife as part of our honeymoon. Seeing other reviews in tripadvisor for the restaurant we decided to go there for some sushi. The place is in the historical centre of Aix, on the pedestrian streets. Try to book a table before hands, otherwise you may get a nasty surprise! Long story short, and because... More

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I had gyoza set. You get little japanese style salada first and Gyoza, Rice, Miso soup. Gyoza was delicious. My daughter had Salmon Sashimi. She said it was very fresh.Shop itself is small but they had some outside eating area, too. As Japanese I loved their food and will go again. They could be very busy... More

Really fun to go to a restaurant in France where everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the crispy prawn california rolls, completely addictive. The fish was extra fresh which makes all the difference, and the chef apparently has 36 years' experience which showed in the presentation and preparation. A little expensive but then all restaurants in Aix... More

In the proliferation of Sushi bars, it is relatively rare to find a genuine family-run Japanese restaurant serving a variety of dishes as in Japan. The Gyoza (Japanese ravioli) as a starter was very good, as was the tempura and the sushi. The deserts were also authentic and refreshing. Very hospitable and friendly, I definitely recommend Naruto for those looking... More

Naruto is a small, completely Japanese-run restaurant in the heart of the old town. It's less than a year old and so is new and clean. When you enter, you feel as if you have gone to Japan. I visited it 4 times, twice for dinner and twice for lunch, between mid-Sept. and mid-Oct. 2010, always with one or more... More
