Wow

Wandered in here after 10pm without a reservation. Menu was somewhat limited and I picked a pork tenderloin dish, not even sure I would like it. Everything was absolutely amazing. The pork was crusted with peanuts and cilantro and served with some kind of light tomato sauce. As I write this I am... read more

Visited a few good restaurants in Aix but wouldn't rate this as amongst the best. Service good but hopeless when asked to choose a wine. Had no idea what we were after. Food of good quality but not as exciting as Vintrepide or Mitch. Bookings essential at this time of year.

Since discovering the joys of creative, gastronomic cuisine with my wife, Le Poivre D'Ane has become our first choice. We have had similar experiences in Le Formal or L'Epicurien in Aix, but Le Poivre D'Ane is the surest bet for a wonderful meal, friendly service and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the "Discovery Menu" for special occasions or... More

We ate here not once but twice on our honeymoon while touring Eastern France. Le Poivre d’Ane was a place that my wife stumbled onto from TripAdvisor, and what makes this place so special was the plethora of flavors each modest sized dish presented, as well as the three courses for a very affordable price. In fact for a three... More

We ate here for dinner tonight and had the tasting menu. The food prepared by Chef Nicolas was exceptional! Every course. The service from Virginia and Julie was incredible. I can not say enough about this outstanding restaurant. You must, absolutely must, experience Le Poivre D'Ane while in Aix!

My partner and I have visited Aix-en-Provence frequently but it was only on our most recent trip that fortuitously or 'par hasard' we happened upon this restaurant one evening after walking back to our hotel after a nice Italian meal. The posted menu prompted us to make a reservation for the next evening. Superb ... superb ... one of the... More

As with many high volume tourist cities in France, it's easy to eat very badly. Whilst this restaurant's location maybe a little confronting, adjacent to a very busy and lively square with dozens of restaurants and happy hour bars, it's stands out from the rest. Service was really friendly and relaxing, food interesting and quality, wine list which was reasonable... More

We ate here our first night in Aix, and enjoyed every morsel of our meal. We ate outside and enjoyed wonderful service, food and wine!

We came to this restaurant based on Tripadvisor recommendations - I also later saw that they were listed as one of the recommended restaurants in Aix by Rick Steves. Location is great in Place des Cardeurs among tons of other restaurants. You can tell right away this one is special based on table availability so make sure you make a... More

Sunday night is hard to find good restaurants open in Aix, so after seeing good reviews we had dinner here. We would have need better off with a burger or pizza and a beer. The food was just average at best. For a three course dinner at 38€, wine and coffee it was over 100€. The chef has been watching... More
