Great restaurant

Having lived in Aix en Provence we have finally ventured out of the Hatted venues. This was ripper. Great invention with food, good wine and great staff. We had some concerns based on some past reviews but these were completely unfounded. I guess some people have their own tastes and I expect a... read more

We had the € 151 (per person) degustation. Absolutely amazing. The attention to detail for the food, the presentation and the service was beyond excellent. The food that arrives is not as you might expect. The food, full of fun and mischief, is presented to you not just for eating but to delight the e It's a once in a... More

I had the €54 set menu for lunch. Wonderfully creative food and presentation. Attentive, but discreet service. Would not hesitate to return or recommend it. Great experience. Best meal in Aix by quite some distance.

Excellent mixture between molecular cuisine and conventional. Great experience over 13 dishes - the recommanded wine was well choosen too. Only little draw back was the spaghetti - over cooked and with not enough salt - this is how french chefs cook pasta - but I have never seen such a beautiful decorated pasta. So, great and surprisingly cheap! Extremly... More

I read so much about Pierre Reboul, I was so excited to try a sort of experimental lunch... really over-promising... It was absolutely not our taste, a mix of sweet and slaty tastes... made finally an uncomfortable experience. Service has only one professional waitress shouldered by some rookies !! I recommend the Petit Pierre, the bistrot from the same owner...... More

We had the eight course tasting menu with small glasses of accompanying matching wines. Superb food with only a single course that didn't quite grab us. Very good wine combinations matched the accompanying dishes. Knowledgeable and helpful wine waiter. Service was excellent (better than excellent as the waiters also had to deal with a table of ignorant phone and tablet... More

Unbelievably good food with a slightly scientific twist. A lot of thought has obviously gone towards making locally-sourced ingredients into interesting and flavourful dishes. The staff were incredibly professional and could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our evening. The wine they recommended was so good that we bought 2 bottles of it from their annexed wine shop to... More

I would love to share our dining experience with you, but unfortunately, it never happened. After making reservations the week before for lunch on a Tuesday, I was informed in an email on the Sunday before that our reservations were cancelled due to lack of space. Since they are closed on Sunday and Monday, there is no talking to them... More

Just ok. I'm sure you can have a better experience in Aix. Maybe my expectations were too high. It's just ok. Really. Didn't see a single star.

Think of the maximum amount you would expect to pay for an enjoyable meal out and double it! If this doesn't daunt you, you'll appreciate a visit here. We went for the seven course "amateur" menu, with matching wines. The staff were really helpful with substitutions for dietary restrictions. Throughout the meal, which went at a place to suit us,...
