Excellent restaurant, but you need to look for it

The food, ambiance, and atmosphere in this restaurant are excellent. My wife and I agree this restaurant has the best soup au pisto in Aix. The food is authentic Provencal. Tough restaurant to find as it is tucked way back down a side street! Very cute, though. We ordered a local Bandol wine....Chateau Val D'Arenc (2010) for 42 Euros. My husband liked it...I enjoyed my Bandol that I had earlier in the day, so I guess I had that taste in my mouth. We had the pistuou soup and the... More

Another restaurant that sounded good in the write up (Rick Steves) but that turned out disappointing. There were only other American tourists there and the food was not consistently good. I had an asperagus appetizer I was looking forward to, but the spears were all soggy. Then I chose chicken for my main course, a mistake the 2 times I've... More

Went to Chez Féraud on recommendation of Lonely Planet. In the past few years the Lonely Planet restos have not been that great for me (with exceptions), but I was happy with this one! Got the asparagus with brandade since I love the latter, had no idea it would come in that form on a crostini. Was disappointed when I... More

This charming restaurant is located on a little side street, tucked away from the busy center squares of Aix. Madame is the proprietress and told us she has had this restaurant for 20 years. The service is friendly and homey, and the interiors are also comfortable. We were lucky to be there on a warm June afternoon for lunch and... More

Chez Feruad in Aix is a beautiful little restaurant tucked away in a quiet street. Everything about our lunch was perfect. The soup pistou, roasted eggplant and red pepper salad, beef daub, and meat-filled cannelloni were composed of fresh quality ingredients prepared to perfection. The service was impeccable. Both the hostess and the waiter were very attentive, all smiles and... More

We left Marseilles airport in the afternoon on the way to our Mas in Le Thor and stopped for a stretch and Dinner in Aix-en-Provence. We had a few recommendations but we didn't like what we saw and just wandered away. We stumbled upon Chez Feraud by chance and liked it so we went in although it was quite empty... More

We chose this restaurant because it is known for traditional Provençal food. We started with soup pistou, a vegetable and bean soup, with herbs and a Parmesan finish. Grilled eggplant and red peppers came with a fresh and flavorful salad of mustard greens, radish and fresh garlic. For a main course we chose beef daube, a traditional stew of long... More
