A pleasant enough venue, with very pleasant staff. However, the food was not good. I had some very dry and tasteless chicken with a miserable excuse of vegetables in season. My husband had average steak, no sauce or condiments, with cold, soggy pomme frites. Eat elsewhere.

This is the place we kept returning to for meals. Comfortable, excellent food, and relaxed atmosphere. Had dinner twice and breakfast once during our stay in the area. Very satisfying. Wine list was great! Service was attentive and friendly. The fish and chips and the rumsteak are highly recommended. Have outside dining as well. The wall of curiosities in the... More

Very lively place with a mix of clientele. Varied menu and not too expensive. The service was friendly and helpful. All very informal but a good atmosphere and decent food and a nice carafe of house red. Would definitely return..

We had lunch here; a really good atmosphere - the place is the real deal. Food was very good (although my wife found here omelette a little sloppy); I had an excellent Mediterranean platter. Service was also very good given the circumstances (the French believe that rather than having 3 waiters working very hard, they'd rather have 2 waiters working... More

I ate here twice with colleagues during a stay near Poitiers The interior is original and different and the mix of styles reflects that it seems to have been formed from several old buildings. Good varied selection of food and good service. In a group, everyone will find things to like. A lively informal atmosphere as well.

We found this by chance when looking for a meal after a day at Futuroscope. So glad we did, it feels like the original French bistro that Cafe Rouge once aspired to although with a more adventurous menu. Buzzing atmosphere and the food was great quality. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it.

Slightly more adventurous -even a touch of world cuisine. Decent food at a decent price. Service is efficient, and helpful. A good stop off whilst exploring Poitiers

We took friends out for lunch in Poitiers and we were really impressed by this restaurant: the food was excellent and the total bill with drinks came to under 60e! One of us had the Menu du Jour: grilled stuffed pepper (juicy and tasty), salmon, tabbouleh and spinach (ditto!), passion fruit moussed (to die for!). Two others had fish and... More

We come here regularly and have not been disappointed. Buzzy atmosphere, friendly and fun waiters, menu du jour always good and great value too - but get there before 12.30 or they might have served it all - although the a la carte menu is excellent and their burgers are tremendous.
