An excellent Bistro, French food with a Thai twist.

On a shopping trip to La Rochelle the ladies decided they wanted lunch and they wanted to eat at this Bistro again. The weather had started to cool and there was a chilly wind along the street and very few people were sitting outside. We received prompt and courteous service and were soon moved... read more

We just love this friendly restaurant nestled in the heart of La Rochelle. The food is consistently good and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Also they offer menus in English with a very good translation of the food you will receive. We went there with all our visitors last year and everyone loved this place as much as... More

We had brochettes de boeuf sauce aux 5 baies and magret de canard with honey sauce. Both dishes had an Asian twist, with herbs, berries and other condiments borrowed from Chinese and Thai cuisine, making them taste pretty unique. The meats were of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The balance of flavours was remarquable with the original taste of... More

We'd been early to the cinema and then decided to eat. What an excellent choice - the place was full which is always a good sign but we were shown quickly to one of the few tables empty and our order taken. The food was excellent and piping hot and the staff very friendly. Not the cheapest place but we'll certainly... More

The menu is a set up formula, you have about five options of appetisers, entrés and deserts. It's touristic packed place, and the food is like an assembly line, but the food is tasty. They try to serve more or less the same, I asked for duck and they brought be the seafood curry they where serving to most people.... More

This restaurant says that it follows the spice road in creating spicy dishes of a crossover nature, it doesn't quite deliver on this. However, the atmosphere is informal and buzzy, the service is very good and the food is reasonable given the price. Butterfly prawns were Chinese restaurant standard and OK. Brochette de Beouf was very nice, medium rare and... More

All food descriptions make a song and dance about spices but the ones we tried were nothing special. My magret de canard and my wife's brochette de boeuf were cooked correctly a point but the service was minimal to say the least. Taciturn, indifferent and diffident, despite the fact that I always order and converse in French. There are many... More

I just popped in for lunch as this restaurant was recommended by my hotel. It was extremely busy, many families with young children and as such fairly loud and hectic. One sits close to the neighbouring tables, hence not the place for any intimate discussions. I have to say that this was not negative though. It all added to the... More
