On a rainy day in La Rochelle we came across this restaurant for lunch and what a find! We had the lunch time set fish menu for 29 euros. The food was exceptional and service good. The wine menu is a little pricey but quality wines. With coffee our bill was less than 120 euros but I guess if you... More

I find it hard to imagine how anyone could possibly give this restaurant less than 4 out of five. We stayed in La Rochelle for 8 nights and this was one of the highlights of our stay Excellent food, excellent service. One slight de traction - the wines were a little overpriced in our opinion, and we speak fluent French!

As Tripadvisor has grown so the necessity to learn to read between the lines has become essential! If there are really 46 BETTER restaurants in La Rochelle then I'll happily retire to a monastery. The whole experience was brilliant. Obviously being a seaside town, fish and shellfish are going to be a mainstay but to prepare them in such imaginative... More

We were several times in this very nice restaurant just by the harbour and it was, as usual, a good choice. The restaurant is very elegantly decorated and the room sounds quite quiet. The food : fresh, tastefully presented and wonderfully cooked. It was a pity to eat : dishes looked like art masterpieces ! The service is professional and... More

Not a very warm welcome and not very attentive. A number of the dishes were not well seasoned. My wife's two large prawns on a huge bed of tinned mashed pineapple was exceptionally poor especially at a price of 37 euros! The only good part of the meal was the two desserts. The wine list was nothing special apart from... More

We tried a lot of oysters on our drive up along the Atlantic coast, and this place serves up the best oysters hands-down. The rest of the dishes are all good and we would not hesitate to return. Price point is slightly higher than the surroundings but you can see why. The ambience is definitely more formal than the other... More

“Les Flots” is owned by Gregory Coutanceau, one of La Rochelle’s foremost restaurateurs. His brother, Christopher, took on the original, Michelin starred, “Coutanceau” restaurant from their father. The un-starred “Les Flots” is therefore apparently not in the same category as the brother’s place. We had tried to get in there, but it was full. The difference between the brothers is... More

We decided to treat ourselves to a meal here while staying in La Rochelle on our honeymoon. We turned up at about 8pm and despite the place being fully booked the staff managed to rearrange and find us a table outside overlooking the harbour. We both decided to go for the set menu which was real treat, we had delicious... More

This place was recommended to me and i was not disappointed.,but you have to have a full wallet.Staff were polite and although i speak reasonable french they were happy to speak english if i preferred. The starters were expensive at 27 euros so i went straight to the main course. The fish was superb and served with clever vegetables. Dessert... More

To start, the meal for four people with one bottle of average priced wine and two beers was 338 euros. Two of us ordered the sea bass, when it arrived, the waiter proceeded to tell us not to eat the pastry, and the green that was underneath it, as this was there to soak up the salt. I ate some...
