Inventive cuisine; excellent ingredients

This tiny spot has superb cuisine from a chef who worked for a super star and has opened his own spot in a place where excellent ingredients are abundant.

My wife and I, having just arrived in La Rochelle, came upon this restaurant whilst out sightseeing. I recognised the name from T.A. and we booked for that night. We were not let down! Whilst eating, a number of couples were turned away and all had disappointed faces as they left. It may not be for everyone but it was... More

Just didn't get it. Two choices for starter and main, neither good. Just a bit too "worthy" about the whole organic ness and provenance. I can't find anything more to say without getting nasty. Basically not a good restaurant for atmosphere, food or choice.

What a wonderful restaurant this is! My partner and I visited in mid-September and were treated to a lovely meal. I started with an entree consisting of three balls accompanied by warm grapes. When opened the balls revealed a delicious concoction of pork, bacon and peppers in a succulent sauce - probably lots of other ingredients as well! The main... More

Glad we took the trouble of finding this little restaurant (was tempted by larger restaurants nearby). Great service by the lady of the restaurant who does all the front of house including waiting. Food was really tasty and great value. Wine selection good and reasonably priced. French food at its best.

Reservations are a must here, with this modest-sized family-run restaurant enjoying a strong reputation and booking out in full. We were not disappointed. Although the strictly limited menu offers a choice of only two options (which may not suit everyone), the quality of the cooking is first rate. The standout dish at the time of our visit was a 'Deconstructed... More

we visited this restaurant twice whilst on holiday. The menu is very limited but as we eat anything this didn't worry us. It is 22 euro for 3 courses; there was plenty to eat. Both times the food was very good and if we had been there longer we would have gone again. Inside the restaurant is small, but there... More

Small inside but very cosy on a rainy evening so no outside tables. We have to thank Trip Advisor for leading us to this restaurant as it's location and exterior look would probably been bypassed. It was fully booked so our prior booking was essential and led to the best meal of our 10 day holiday. Our appetiser of fish mousse... More

Really great food and service. The owner was lovely and cooks everything from scratch on location. It's worth booking a day in advance to not be dissapionted. Would highly recommend.

After all the positive reviews, we thought we were in for a great meal. The service was good, wine was good, but the food was really pretty ordinary. Started with a very nice apertiser, the entrees were just ok, but the mains were a disappointment, a rather tasteless roast duck and the tuna which was overlooked with a strange sort... More
