The Good: Service was slick with some very helpful waiters. The price is reasonable and the location is very good. I had beef and chips which was tasty and my partner loved the massive portion of mussels. The Bad: Prawns are served whole (heads and tracks still on) which isn't a massive issue, but is somewhat 80s. The wine selection... More

Loads of places to choose from. Went for this one and really glad we give. Started with Salmon followed by veal, with carafe of house rose. Would go there again. Water really good and kept talking to us in French. Even though we know he could speak English. Just what we wanted. Great food and good value.

Chose this restaurant from a large number available in La Rochelle. We were not disappointed. The place has a very nautical air, pleasantly decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are very efficient and attentive. The food was excellent. I had Salad des Gesiers followed by Moules/Frites my wife had Moules/Frites followed by Creme Caramel. All excellent dishes and well cooked.... More

Been an annual visitor to La Rochelle many years. It's a good overnight stop on our way to the Channel Ports. Dozens of very good restaurants and a lot of mediocre ones too. At last we have found 'our place' It's just wonderful. We haven't tried all the local restaurants but can say with absolute certainty that this is by... More

We had been to this restaurant last year and remembered it as being really nice so had to try it again. We weren’t disappointed. What a lovely restaurant – nice decor, friendly staff and quality food. A nautical theme with some really interesting paintings gave a nice ambience to the place. The restaurant was busy with locals – always a... More

During a business trip we visited this fish restaurant, caught by a view inside through the window. The right ambience to have fish in a harbour. Fishsoup for starter was one of the best I ever had and the main dish (Grondin filet) exactly the style we were looking for. Finally also a tasteful local dessert. All together for 23,50€,... More

When a resort has 100s of restaurants why would you go back to the same one twice? Although not extensive the menu was varied. The waiter had a sense of humour, good English and a knowledge of food. The restaurant seemed to attract friendly clients and much amusement was had as a French couple watched as we ate snails, langoustines... More

Even in the gastronomic capital of this region the restaurant stands out . The menu though not large is excellent with some good meat dishes as well as fish. The staff are good humoured and helpful . A request to make one of the starters with different accompaniments and to serve as a main course was done with no fuss.... More

There are lots of restaurants in La Rochelle and most of them are very expensive, but not Le P'tit Admiral. We first came across the restaurant (after spotting the Trip Advisor sticker in the window) for lunch, where we enjoyed generous portions of moules and frites. We enquired about meals in the evening and found they offered a varied range... More
