Probably the best of the 5 restaurants we ate at in La Rochelle when we (20 cyclists) toured there in June 2014. Made us very welcome, provided excellent service and the food/wine was superb. Very happy with the price charged. We will be back in 2015 should we tour to La Rochelle again.

Good cooking and friendly service, shame about the limited wine options. We had the set menu which is good value at 26 or 29 euros, for 2 or 3 courses. Both had the foie gras, which was ok but not special. The moules marinieres were excellent though. Arriving on sizzling cast iron dishes they oozed tomato and garlic sauce and... More

The street where Baitona sits is literally lined with restaurants/eateries either side of it and choosing where we were going to eat took some time as there are also a lot more places around the harbour and square, however this place seemed to draw us in and we were not disappointed! Waiters spoke good English and we were offered both... More

Had a great time here with friends. Situated on a busy street and great atmosphere. Waitress was friendly but should have asked her to explain the confit with chips. It arrived raw. However we tried it and it was very tasty. It had been marinated in tomato and herbs. Other dishes looked good too. I would recommend this restaurant .... More

Duck n chips have never been so special!!! I'm very serious. Sat outside soaking up the vibe. Small perfectly crafted menu written in French/Spanish so a little confusing

On a street full of restaurants, our 11 year old chose this one. He'll need to choose again! Fantastic place, great food and really nice staff. A great end to our holiday. Will recommend and comeback ASAP.

Emilie was such a brilliantly friendly, chatty waitress. So helpful and always seemed to be smiling. The food was simply excellent and not expensive. The atmosphere on the street outside the restaurant was vibrant and entertaining to observe. This gets a top mark from us.

the food here was good and well presented with very pleasant staff in attendance. The wine list was a bit disappointing but then I find that is often the case in France. Tried there of the reds without finding a HIT. watty

We walked down this street full of restaurants and chose this one as it looked the most inviting. The service was excellent and they let us stumble through our awkward French without making us feel silly (although their English was great). We had grilled steak and the chicken burger with their recommended local wine. Very good! Would go here again!

We arrived a little early but this place soon filled and had a lovely warm atmosphere. From the amuse bouch pâté, through the courses it was excellent. My g/f's John Dory was among the best fish dishes I have had. Waitress friendly and helpfull, esp. towards two English who's French is limited. Would recommend.
