Extensive Italian Menu

I was told by the staff that this was a Coutanceau restaurant until 4 months ago, when it was sold and re-created as an Italian speciality restaurant. Coutanceau is the equivalent of Rick Stein in Padstow, owning the best restaurant in town as well as several others. Friendly waiters and an... read more

We love Italian food, but are frequently disappointed when eating in so called Italian restaurants outside of Italy. This time we were not - there wasn't a pizza to be seen on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed all that we were served. The dishes were far more authentic than many other ‘Italian restaurants’ that I have eaten in. We choose... More

We were in La Rochelle on a Monday night and many restaurants that we would have tried were closed. We happened upon this one and it was a truly wonderful meal. The Dorado fish was excellent and I loved their fig with honey and ice cream dessert! There were other dishes I would have loved to try but those desires... More

One of the best Italian meals we have experienced, a wonderful night out . The staff were attentive and helpful. The meal truly great.

If you're a tourist glutted on duck and creme brulee and fancy a change this is a perfectly adequate, Italian. Sensible menu and wine list, good service, pleasant enough dining room. My wife and I had the risotto with langoustines and the tagliatelle followed by the tiramisu and cassata. All washed down with a perfectly adequate Montepulciano. Nothing outstanding but... More

Located in THE street for good restaurants in La Rochelle, this one offers a decidedly Italian slant. We enjoyed very good antipasti (all vegetarian), a lasagne, and a very good lasagne which was made with goat's cheese. There is outside seating which enable you to watch one of the city's primary pedestrian thoroughfares.

Very poor meal with slow service . We have eaten in various places in LA Rochelle and I have to say this was the worst . Very pretentious and we did notice if you were not local you were ignored . portion size was small and 17 euros for a very small tasteless bowl of pasta seemed a bit over... More

After a whole day walk, wanted some informal but nice dining. We seated in this restaurant in the Street (they also have an interior) to see peolple passing by. Nice wine, delicious fish and pasta and one very but very good Tiramisú made it very enjoyable. Our waiter (hope to write it well) Marie - Sarah was incredible nice.... Not... More

We came across this restaurant by chance. Prices a little higher than some other restaurants in the vicinity, but quality of food much better. The menu is Italian inspired, with some French twists. Would recommend for something a little special, although if you want an outside table then either book or arrive early.

We went to Comptior for lunch and place was packed. Very nice meal, good ambience as well. Beautiful decor and interesting fusion ideas. God value for money, worth visiting again.
